Dynamic Levels?

Post » Mon Sep 13, 2010 9:40 pm

I was wanting to know if there were any dynamic elements to any of the maps in Brink.

Basically what I mean by "dynamic" is that some part of the level moves or is interactive that could impact gameplay.

It could be anything from a conveyor belt or a trapdoor or something small like that to a button that significantly alters the layout of the map.

The battlefield constantly changes. You have different sections in each map. Once you complete certain objectives, you move on to the next part, which contains other objectives. For example, you can blow up a gate and gain a secondary route, while the other team might repair it again, to cut off that way.

It's an Operative. You can hack things like turrets, but you'll never access the base/spawnpoint. In fact, there are no real " military bases" ingame afaik. There are end objectives to complete the map.

It's like i said in my post above. By completing objectives, the map layout will change.

Operatives will also be able to hack open back doors to open alternative routes.

But so will other classes.

A soldier may get a side objective to blow a barricade to open up a route
An Engineer may have to build/repair a bridge.

That's good to know. Its all about helping your team advance. I have heard anything about bridges but it makes sense in context.

I was just using it as an example of an objective an Engineer may or may not have.

Bridges were common objectives in W:ET and ET:QW as you are aware off, so I think the chance is pretty high to see them again.

Basically what I mean by "dynamic" is that some part of the level moves or is interactive that could impact gameplay.

The first objective in Container City is to escort a robot.
The second is to blow up a gate.
The third is to escort the robot again.
The fourth is to use a crane to carry that robot over a barrier.
The fifth objective is to secure an item and delive it to an extraction point.

Each mission will play in a similar style. So you can expect every mission to basicly consist of gameplay changing impacts.
