Unable to see certain structures, namely Big Town, from rela

^Title
I have all object view distances maxxed out, yet I still can't see Big Town until I'm within 100 feet.
It's really immersion breaking, running towards a small plain, when suddenly, WHAM, a town.

P.S. Distant textures in general look abominable. Any fixes there?

Count how many mods you use. How much RAM do you have, both regular and video car.

This can happen for a number of reasons but mostly because you have very high textures. Like 4Aces textures for example can hammer the hell out of yer system. This can happen if you have over 100 mods at once. Some cases more crap trying to fit into the ram you have and just not enough till it chokes and sputters and finally spits out the town.

Well my Ram is listed in my sig at 4 gigs(and I have 3gig enabler for fallout) I don't have many high-res textures, just some guns and armor. Nothing over 1024x1024 is my rule.
I'll repost my rig here if for some reason you cant see my sig:

Sapphire 5850 1GB
AMD Athlon II X2 Regor Overclocked to 3.5 ghz
4 GB (3.2GB cause I have 32 bit) CORSAIR DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300)
7200 RPM HDD 160GB
MSI 785gtm-e45 mobo

It's normal. For some reason Big Town doesn't have any VWD objects for it, so you don't see anything until you're almost on top of it. I'm not sure why they designed it that way.

I was annoyed by this problem too. Try setting uGridsToLoad in Fallout.ini to 7: I no longer notice landscape objects 'popping' thanks to that change. Of course, it does mean that the game will be loading a lot more objects, and that might, depending on your setup, cause a noticeable drop in frame rate.

I've been wanting to try that, thanks! Now I just have to figure out how to manually set the min/max spawns for FWE/MMM to 2-4 and I'll be set. Cause I think Increasedx2 spawns and 7 grids would be a bit much.

It's fortunate that they seem to have fixed the problems that increasing that value causes in the engine. With Oblivion, it was not at all a good idea to go any higher than 5. Doing so would cause some very bizarre bugs to occur. Too bad for me that my video card can't quite handle it. Most of the time I get alright performance, but sometimes it's too choppy for my liking. It sure looks good set that high.
