Switching Sides

Post » Tue Sep 14, 2010 9:50 pm

When Brink was announced, there was only small bits of information on it. Those who were interested came to the formers (unless you had been on here already), and various topics and threads had arose about Resistance VS Security. Why ____ is right, why ____ is wrong, and the occasional "_____ are extreme radical _____". But over time, many of us had come to find more and more information on Brink, and the arguments between Resistance and Security fans died down a lot. But over time, had anybody really had a change of opinion?

I for one have come to realize I will most likely end up playing as a Resistance member, despite all of the arguments I had against them in the first place. Anybody else experienced the sort of thought that really made you think about which side your actually fighting for?

When I first came here it was Resistance all the way for me, but I changed opinion. I will play both sides equally. Depends on how I feel and how I want to play etc. I think of the two sides more as in W:ET now.

do you always have to choose what side you will play in a match? can't you just do free play and pick a map that you want to play online on and get auto-assigned to a side?

I still like Resistance more, I still think I'll play Security too, and the DOOM Pack is still without-a-doubt the best pack.
So... No, I still have the same opinions.

That's what I'll be doing. I just pIck the side with the fewest amount of players.

This is how it will work when you're not in campaign mode. People just have to realise.

OR this thread is yet again about hypothetical side-picking.

Is that how it works? I dislike that, but I can deal with it.

Yes, that is how it works. Otherwise you wouldn't need a Resistance and Security outfit for your character.

You would need both because you have the option to be whichever to begin with.

People think too much in terms of resistance OR security. It's more like Resistance AND security. The Story will be nice to see from one of the perspectives, but after that, i think LOT of people stop caring which side they play on. I'm one of them.

That's usually what I did in W:ET. However, in Brink there is auto-balancing (bots filling empty player slots) so I will choose the team with fewer points.

You could also choose to play on Human only servers.

Isn't that what auto-assign does anyway?

At least from my experience it usually puts you in the losing team.

What if a game d9oesn't have auto-assign? I never use it anyway.

It's quite handy if you're lazy. Join a game, auto assign and you're ready to go. 90% chance in the team that needs you most.

If you only decide you want to play one side you are getting half of the game only. If you just play you get the full experience.
