Conspircacy time....

That could just be someone POSING as Todd Howard! ;)

Also, I wonder how many folks here even realised that the Elder Scrolls has a Facebook page. It's up in the stickies....wait...nevermind..nobody reads those

HA Godd fun!

ON topic: I can't wait for sys req's to come out so that folks have a better idea of what to expect.

Rumbly

Personally, I think that is indeed a fake Todd Howard profile. The pictures in the profile can mostly be found in an image search on Google. (No offense intended if it is indeed real)

There is another Todd Howard profile which has Pete Hines and Gstaff added as friends. I have no guarantee that Pete Hines' and Gstaff's Facebook profiles are really theirs, but they look much more legit.

If those shots come from XBOX I am happy. That is likely what I will be playing the game on and it looks like one of the best graphics games I have seen on 360

Oh, well I don't use facebook so I was just guessing there. Is that automatic on FB for some reason or did the person who got it do it externally?

Someone has to do it externally.

@the people who say more people play on consoles: What? I'd say the same for any multi-platform game, except for the TES series; more people obviously play on the PC because of mods, better controls and graphics. The mods here being the key thing.

Realistically, the only difference they are most likely to improve on the PC version is texture size. Artists like working in high resolution and seeing how modeling in softwares like Zbrush and Mudbox, they craft high poly models at first, then create height maps of it and scale the model down, then apply the height map. The texture sizes would be much higher when they're working with the art assets. Mind as well offer a "huge texture size" version for the PC. Can't see why this would be a problem. Wouldn't even take much more work.

Hm maybe you're right, because when I think of it my friends that have Oblivion have it on console.
We can't be really sure.
But I THINK, judging from the online poll and from mods (I also think 1st person games are WAY easier to "maneuver" on PC than with a joystick), there's more PC players.

Still, I hope the screens are from xbox360, but I doubt it?
I mean. Don't they "turn the game to consoles" from the PC once the game actually is finished?
Idk, maybe I'm wrong. No idea.

How much did the PC version of Oblivion sell? I know it sold 5.5 million on both PS3 and X360.

"Rather than offer you only 8 choices on the directional pad, Bethesda implemented a handy customizable menu to quick select your favorite weapons, spells and items..."

That line does seem to indicate the game was viewed on a console, although it doesn't necessarily mean that the screenshots provided came from the same source. Regardless, vanilla Bethesda games have always looked comparable on the consoles. It's only when you mod them with texture packs, etc, that the PC versions look vastly improved.

So xbox it is! Nice to see they've stepped up their game to match the other mainstream releases on consoles,
although thats hardly surprising since Oblivion was a convert to the consoles, and not built with them in mind.

Look at the dragon screenshot with it flying in the distance, thats pretty impressive now know what format its based,
although I remember Gears 2 had a ridiculous amount of enemy spawns at one point and there was no noticable
slowdown, so I know the console has got the potential for some impressive battle scenes.

I wonder how impressive it'd look on a good pc build though, thats bound to be awe inspiring.

Look at how the UI looks on Oblivion's PC version and say that again. <_<

Haha I admit that was quite rough, although besides the map I just rolled with the setup
but then thats the mouse and keyboard pain, everything is at your fingertips with
game pads :D

The graphics were actually better on my xbox than my pc to start with too even though
I upgraded slightly lol but those screenshots.... man, I 'm looking forward to seeing it
in motion.

On Todd Howard's wall there is no post with what 'Dennis' wrote. It's fake unless someone takes a screenshot of the WHOLE page. Apart from that, I've just been on his facebook wall, and there are no posts. Most likely a fake.

EDIT:

See, where's the wall post?

False. Well, maybe not. But not necessarily true. Chances are the more hardcoe ES fans will buy the PC version due to the availability of modding. Also, most RPGs are computer games more often than console games, so RPG gamers would be more computer inclined. Therefore, results will be quite skewed. I wouldn't say for sure which has more players.

I hate playing games on my computer, save mmo's. Too much upgrading... spending money, etc. Using a console is much easier, I mean, I won't have the best graphics (Unless I played on my HDTV) but, I don't have to buy new parts for every new gen game that comes out.

Normally, I'd say maybe it's because it's actually on Dennis's wall or status page, but seeing as Todd Howard doesn't even have a friend named Dennis...

This is all becoming rather fishy. :unsure2:

The picture of that wall post with the censored surnames reeks of fishy to me. There are websites where you can create a wall post like that in a few seconds. The censored surname was what gave him off though, because regular people would just black it out in paint.

So, it's fake.

Not Todd Howard, that's for sure. Why would he use a photo of himself taken at a presentation that is publically available on the net?

Since there is some question to the validity of this second Todd Howard account I'm going to go ahead and lock this. If we can confirm that this is real and that Todd has two accounts this can be re-opened.

This is definitely a fake account. Maybe it's an account for the monk in the background
