Skyrim to scale?

Post » Fri Sep 17, 2010 12:18 am

I looked at the Tamriel map and it looks like Skyrim is (quite a bit) smaller than Cyrodiil. Will it be scaled using the 2D map? Sorry if I'm asking this wrong. I mean like, yeah, basically will it be the size it looks on the map compared to Cyrodiil and Vvardenfell and whatever? It seems like Vvardenfell on the map looks much smaller than it is (it being only a bit smaller than Cyrodiil.)

Definitely not, as I mentioned in the other thread, Bethesda have said that Skyrim is larger than Oblivion or Morrowind.

I don't know what you're asking.

You mean will it be the same scale as oblivion, as if you put oblivion's map and skyrim's together would their borders fit like cyrodil and skyrim do on the map?

If so, almost certainly not.

Where, and were they referring to map size?

they will not scale it to the 2D map,be sides it need to be big other wise the different regions will make it look like a theme park rather than natural.

Was that in the Game Informer issue?

The game world itself is larger then Oblivion and Morrowind but the 2d map would be made to scale with how the world normally is. In lore Skyrim is smaller then Cyrodiil but it wouldent make much sense making the world smaller then Oblivion(which by todays standards is rather small now just look at Just Cause 2, RDR etc) Im expecting the game world to be rather large.
