So there have been people having problems with corrupted save files.

How does a save file become corrupted, and what can one do to combat/prevent it?

is there no solution? or does nobody give a [censored] about it? :(

i only know, when i star a new game, everything works fine in the saving-wasteland. but then after time, (after i was completing Operation Achorage) the savegame takes about 5 min to load.. and the longer i play FO3 and saving, the longer is my waiting time to load -.- well, the saving part is finished after 3 seconds.
I guess im now at 10min loading time.

and there is nothing in the web, how to fix this... :((( my save is about 9MB and an earlier autosave is only 2MB′
im using all official DLCs, an some other unofficial DLCs

Can someone help?

Save files can be corrupted by overwriting the same file over and over. When you need to save a game, it saves everything. Every random weapon dropped on the ground, every piece of junk in the game has a location thats saved. Thats a lot of stuff. When you constantly overwrite the same save, it can be corrupted much quicker. Its best to make a save, then use that slot maybe 3-5 saves and then make a new save slot for the next few. The save files are huge (when comparing them to other games). A save file can be greater then 10MB, having your My Documents on a SSD helps a lot.
