Caves

Post » Fri Sep 17, 2010 10:57 pm

With all of the retextures and mesh replacers and MGE that make my game that looks even better than Oblivion, it seems when I go into a cave I see the "old" Morrowind. Seems like that may be the last area to get redone. Any mods out there that deal with redoing caves?

What exactly do you mean? Adding new content?
The chance of mod conflicts would increase quickly if things were rearranged or altered too much. Also... there's over 100 caves in the game (not even counting ruins/tombs)

edit: not saying it's a bad idea. but would be a large task in need of great attention.

EDIT: I just read the sub-title to this thread. sorry about my ramblings.
there are texture replacers for all the types of stone walls, and the blue crystals, and the wooden structures.
I think I mostly have Connary's work.

No not new content. More like caves look dated versus trees, grass, buildings, MGE on the outside. However, I am not a modder and I didnt realize how involved it would be. Plus I am making my comparison to Oblivion caves which look more realistic to me.

Just my observations.

Those looks absolutely splendid. They're just begging to be bump mapped.

vibrant morrowind was already mentioned. here is the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1082054-connarys-retextures-gonne/page__p__15774888&#entry15774888 for connary.

what replacer did u use so far? sounds like you have one, that leaves the caves out, which seems odd. I actually don't know, if http://elderscrolls.filefront.com/file/Morrowind_Visual_Pack_Combined;56241 does the caves. and for the ice caverns on solstheim there is this http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6306 from vality.

ask me about replacers i know a lot^^ ;) i cannot use mge on my old compi so i have to work with replacers to get screens like http://i974.photobucket.com/albums/ae224/mwscreen/blackwidow6.jpg, http://i974.photobucket.com/albums/ae224/mwscreen/blackwidow3.jpg and http://i974.photobucket.com/albums/ae224/mwscreen/blackwidow4.jpg.

If you like caves, Connary did a great job and really took his time with caves. As for Vibrant Morrowind 4.0, I didn't put too much effort into caves, as I was too busy on everything else.
