Favorite Town/City?

Post » Mon Sep 20, 2010 9:06 am

My elf was born and raised in Bravil. In her heart, it will always be home. In her travels though, she has come to love each of the cities in their own way. Anymore I suppose, she tends to spend time at each of her (mage) guild halls or the University if visiting the IC. She travels so much that I suppose she would say she actually lives out of her mare's saddlebags. She really needs to find a roomie to share her small Bravil home since she is there so rarely.

If Teresa was not staying at the Fighters Guild she would take Buffy up on the offer. Like me, Teresa is not from Bravil, but was quick to fall in love with the quaint and unpretentious little city by the bay. It is the next best thing to living in the forest.

Anvil is my choice, but if Lewayiin actually looked like the birds eye view in the concept art I've seen I'd be going with the never in game seen Lewayiin. I actually think some of the concept art actually looked better then what eventually made it into oblivion.

A bit hard to decide, my characters has been raised in Anvil, but Skingrad has an awesome count, Master alchemist (Alchemy is my favourite skill), and other things. Anvil has a mashed chapel, a bunch of thieves, but is a good place to rule over (Taking out all guards and killing every NPC) , and last, but not worst (actually worse than mashed chapel) , A long way to go if you're heading at the castle.

The first time I entered Cheydinhal I felt it was way more beautiful than all other cities. In fact, few cities (at least unmodded) are even somewhat attractive to me.

Plus... Dark Brotherhood... oh yeah!

I absolutely hate the layout of Skingrad. Plus, the buildings are all cramped together when there's an abundance of space that is left empty, and looks pretty awkward. Castles pretty lame, compared to most, and it is home to one of the most annoying characters in the game, who literally forces himself upon you the moment you enter.

I like the land though, and the premise behind the area, how it's a lush and fertile land, with a rich economy, due to it's intelligent yet mysterious and enigmatic Count. Still, it cannot possibly be my favorite, even though it has a nice house, and maid.

Chorrol or Cheydinhal.
Chorrol because it looks fantatic and just seems like a nice place all up.
Cheydinhal because of the Dark Brotherhood.

Bruma! Because it's cosy, cold, snow and it seems safe up there. Also I love nords <3.

I always hang out in Bruma no matter which char im playing, also Leyawin is a pretty nice place to chill out in, especially on sunny days but nothing beats Bruma. :gun:

No idea why anyone would choose Bravil, its a pit and the Count is an arrogant snob with a skooma addicted son haha.

I honestly do not care for Skingrad. Also, i dont know why every hates so much on Bravil, I kinda like it. Its a pretty neat place. Especially if youre role playing a theif character, or one that grew up in the "streets".

However, i chose Bruma. It was always my favorite city in the game from when i first played.

I love:

- The Snowy environment
- The Nord influences in culture. (Hearty Meals, Pubs with lots of alchohol, Etc.)
- Their city Emblem/Guard uniform is freaking AWESOME.
- The House for sale there is pretty decent and good sized. but not over doing it.
- Main characters statue there. (:

Overall it just seems like a nice place for me to set up shop and make it my place of operations.

Chorrol and Cheydinhal are pretty much equal in my books. They're just picturesque and pretty and fit my idea of what a nice town looks like. Cheydinhal gets extra points for having the DB HQ and the great little rivery-thing in the middle, with the bridges going over it. It's just... pretty.

Kind of off topic, but I can't understand why people would vote for Bruma. Ewww. Snow, cold, ice. My real life is too full of snow for me to enjoy game-snow.:P

Riden, my elf, loves the green nature of Chorrol as it gives him time to study and perfect his magic spells. He even has a quaint two story house(three story if you count the basemant)overlooking the Great Oak Tree of Chorrol. The place is perfect as he hates the Khajiit folks of Leyawiin and hates the arid cold of Bruma. Chorrol is the medium between the arid cold and a forest. Not to mention ample hunting grounds just south of the Chorrol main castle. Now if only he finds some time to visit the Imperial City and GET SOME FREAKIN ORANGES! But no, he doesn't listen to me. -_-

I live in my wizard's tower and only go to town when I have to. Too many nosy people and random Mythic Dawn attacks.
