Did you try the two handed Akaviri Dai-Katana? It looks perfect!

He uses a claymore
Blade
Restoration
Mysticism
Athletics
Marksman
Block
Acrobatics

He is only allowed to use spells from the Mysticism and Restoration schools. He can use scrolls from other schools, but that's it. Born under the Atronach.

What armor type does he wear?
As pdesbois said, try the 2h katana, that would look perfect.

The 2h katana looks sweet indeed. I was a little chagrined to learn some time ago that it has exactly the same damage, speed and reach as a silver long sword. I was disappointed that its stats scream long sword instead of claymore. I quite like the longer reach of a claymore. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Weapons#Two-Handed_Bladed_Weapons

still on the katana 'sub-topic', there is a mod (...) that adds daedric dai/katanas, i think the damage would be the same as daedric claymore but at 1.0 speed. for those that wouldnt mind this....

actually, the only build that can compete with my prefered assssin Haydee is Unsu the bladesmaster. Blocking with the dai-katana is really cool (as is the un/equipping animation).

OOO adds ton of new weapon types including katanas of all types haha. Not to mention on of the coolest weapons in the game is a 2-handed katana(I prefer one handed weapons but I don't want to mod the mod haha and its a nice change of pace). Also in vanilla, one of the most powerful weapons in the game(at least to me) is a katana as well.

I do love the look of the dai-katana. I'm waiting to enchant it. Currently wielding a non-enchanted ebony blade.
He is currently wearing:
Leather Gauntlets
Dwarven Cuirass/Leather Cuirass
Ebony Greaves
Leather Boots
Switches between either a Dwarven Helmet or none at all.
No enchantments on the armor at the moment. He is level 21.

You mean ebony sword right? There actually is an item called Ebony Blade and its not enchanted haha. Must be an interesting looking character haha. The armor that looks most like Samurai/Ronin armor to me at least is Orcish maybe try that out. If you want a real nice looking and powerful katana, try asking a Daedra Lord.....

I know which one you speak of. This is my now 13th full game character, playing since release.
While I appreciate that blade, I much prefer to two-hand it these days. Then self-enchant when the time is right. (He has not helped out Martin in any way.)
I have tried the Orcish armor, but it just doesn't feel right. The greaves look good to me, but the weight and protection of all the armor versus what I am using, is not that much difference from what I'm wearing, plus it looks cool.

Other than the 50% resist frost nords come with, I never bother with elemental resistances. When I get to higher levels though, I usually get the Mundane Ring for the 50% resist magic. My latest character has the Mundane Ring, Spelldrinker Amulet, Sorcerer's Ring, Cameron's Robes, enchanted Wrist Irons and sandals with transcendent sigil stone spell absorption.

Ah ok I figured but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't spoiling or anything. If you had PC I'd say download OOO and try finding some information about the Light of Dawn if you want a powerful 2 handed katana, but I notice the 360 in your signature so no point haha. Ebony looks the coolest to me but it doesn't really give off the Samurai vibe of your character. The Orcish Helmet looks wayyyy more Samurai like then Dwarven haha.

I have 100% Resist Magic and can get up to 100% Reflect Damage if necessary. But I also play on 100% difficulty so it works out :)

Thanks again for helping me in my research.

I myself, use between 25 to 50% of elemental resist, and occasionaly use an all resist shield spell of 25% when I face spell-heavy foes, such as a lich.
