No. Aren't the shouts essentially a spell? Summoning dragons and what not.

Maybe one of the shouts will allow you to target and dismember an enemy.....although I hope not.

VATS allowed you to target specific body parts.

Dragon Shouts are special abilities/spells that allows you to do a bunch of cool [censored]!

No, and I don't see why you'd think that.

Slowing time =/= VATS.
Summoning a dragon =/= VATS.
Knocking someone over =/= VATS.

Those are the only three dragonshouts I know of.

No, hopefully they'll work like Greater Powers in Oblivion, in that it limits how much you can use them.

Also, might as well get this out of the way here, are dragon shouts the same as the Thu'um the Nords are supposed to use, or is it something different?

Huh...is it like a special ability or a conjuration-type spell?

I see dragon shouts kind of like greater power spells, like you would get from a Heaven Stone in Oblivion.

I hope they have awesome animtions though, unlike the greater powers in Oblivion. So disapointed after using Eye of Fear for the first time...

What are dragon-shouts? Well, well since your character is Dragonborn he is one of the few people who can speak draconic, and those words have special powers. Silvade can explain it better.

:P

Dragon Shouts are special abilities that you get in game by completing tasks, quests and things like that. There are over 20 different shouts, each one casts a unique and powerful spell, it's very likely that they will work like greater spells and be available for use only one time a day.

The player as being one of the Dragonborns, has knowledge on Dragonic, an ancient language used by Dragons. By shouting three or more specific words he will be able to execute this spell-like ability and summon dragons, or slow time, knock foes in a certain radius, etc.

The only thing, I think, it relates to VATS, is that it's probably going to be a separated button/key from the spell. One (Two in case of dual spells) will be for casting a common spell, the other will be for shouting. Just like spells, it will probably be selected on the Magic menu.

Almost certainly, since spells are cast from your hand using the hand button, and I'm just guessing but I think dragonshouts are probably done with your mouth :P
