Saves Crashes! (mod Or Corrupt Savegame?)

Post » Mon Sep 20, 2010 10:49 pm

SOLVED: Solution was to reload a previous savegame, fortunelly that did work.

Hai. Well I was doing great with my newest mod, Ka Boom Radio ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1CoP5wDJ4E ) And sudenly the saves start to crash, everytime I quicksave/autosave the game crashes, of course when I deactive the mod, the game is OK. But I spent a lot of time doing this mod and I'm really sad... I have backups ( 6 different ESP ) and ALL OF THEM CRASHES.

I think is because of a corrupt save game, because I can load previous Save Games ( I just finished doing the Broken Steel Mainquest ) and at the middle of the quest that's when the game start crashing... when I was looiking for the Tesla Coil.
Also, I downloaded the FO3Edit, and I don't know if that has something to do with this... The only thing I did was, create a new faction (KBRFaction) and make friends with BoS faction. and then after the crashes I undone that, even loaded other backups of the Mod... and nothing.

Thanks!!!

You do know that releasing a radio station with music that isn't at least 50 years old is most likely to violate copyright laws. That's why you don't see any radios with 'contemporary' music. There's nothing stopping you from adding your own music to your own mod for your own listening plaeasure. All one needs to do is substitute the songe files from any radio station with their own files and then you would hear your own music in the game.

Yea you cant make a station with any of that music. Its all still under copyright law, and would be taken down from wherever you upload it too. Thats why the best people can do is set up the station, but the player has to put their own music in for it to work. So looks like your project is bust D:

Anyways I solved this problem so forget about it.... Ho! and please don't call the FBI on me :P or is illegal to even talk about it? Gosh..!

Well, we dont like the word illegal and try to avoid it, as it often makes things seem worse than they are. Simply talking about it is for the most part, alright. Just most music made after 1960 is still under copyright, so you could not make a mod with it without risking a cease and desist order. Thats not so much illegal, but they pretty much say "Stop or we will charge you." and if you take it down, all the problems go away and its forgotten. If you dont, bad things happen. Just make a radio station with some awsome 50's music or something. Or like I said, with no music, but you as a DJ. So people insert their own songs into it, but still have you DJ'n all the songs. So just use generic terms like "Heres some music!" like what 3 dog says.

Ok Gunmaster95, no problem. There's nothing related to music here besides the comment of "EliteKill" I never talked about music and I never said the mod is going to have a copyrighted playlist or something... At this point I don't even know if it's going to be released!
My point is you people need to stop to freak out when someone says the word "music" or "radio" because in first place you didn't even ASK ME in the first place about it, and basically all of you are spamming, since the question is regarding Savegame Crashes.

That's all, pay more attention next time.

PD: "We don't like"? ok... just don't hit me, I didn't do anything wrong.

We are not freaking out, and not 'hitting' you or anything. We are simply warning you, to protect you. I have myself come close to doing things like this. And I was basing my assumption of copyrighted music based of the youtube video YOU gave a link too, which was irrelevant to your question. So I guess that your spamming too right? So you pay attention to what your originally post. We are just warning you, so you dont make a mod with copyrighted stuff, then be all like "oh noes!" and get busted for it. Its not like any of us are going to call the cops on you, so cool it.

I'm cool thanks. Do as you will I never mention music in the mod, never get close to it. But anyways, the video was simply for you to have an idea in what I'm working on, a video of my mod, and this post is about that mod, how's that irrelevant? Kinda makes me wonder.
And yeah the video has music, so what? It seems that youtube has no problem with that, since they didn't delete the video. I'm in the right place, you are frikin' out.And thanks I don't need a warning, since I never RELEASE the mod in the first place. And you didn't help me with the ORIGINAL question.

Who is out of place? In any case, I'm not posting links to download music or something... so? If a single post of a random guy can make all this mess happen and you still talking to me like I did something wrong.WELL I NEVER DID.

Seeya, to me : Case Closed.

Ho and Thanks, for whatever your "Ego" wants to be thanked.

I was just responding to ElliteKill's post anyway as I too wanted the exact same type of music in a mod I was making and then had discussions about it with the folks at the Nexus site. I thought I was giving some usable advice on how to circumvent the problem to Ellitekill as your question seemed to be resolved. If my post offended you in any way, I apologize. So I have two sets of music files, those for release with the mod that are in the public domain, and those I would prefer to listen too. Swapping them out on your own allows for you to listen to the ones you want, that's all.

The video was not necissary, as it did not help you ask your question in any way. But beside the point. I too am sorry if I offended you, I was not trying to. I was simply warning you, so you may plan accordingly. Nobody is trying to say your doing anything wrong, or scolding you or anything. We arent freaking out.
