Ok, so I picked up the Fallout Collection the other day and I'm having a blast, surprisingly as I didn't think I'd enjoy it. Anyway, I've done a fair amount of quests, got the Water Chip back to Vault 13 and have a semi decent inventory.

However, I've talked to Harry (the super mutant) and asked to be taken to his superiors, so he took me to "Lou" who has beaten me, took all of my gear, left my with 1% health and locked me up in a cell. I do have a save just before I spoke with Harry, so nothing is lost, however, I wanted to know if this is meant to happen, and how to make progress as me and my good chum Ian are getting slaughtered.

What happened is just one of the options you have for stopping the Super Mutant threat. You don't have to go through with this, and if you're at a reasonably low level you probably won't be able to get yourself out of that situation. It's possible to get where you are right now in different ways, later in the game. But make sure you talk to Lou, his conversation is not something you want to miss.

Ah I see. I did talk to Lou, I guess I didn't pick every dialog option, but, the ones I did pick always ended up the same. Him beating me. lol.

Yeah, he sure likes giving a beating Depending on the gear you have right now, you could make it out of there alive, just run away as soon as Lou walks up to you. Running will turn them hostile if I remember correctly, but it will give you time to put on some gear. Otherwise, just reload, you will get to that place eventually, and chances are by the time you get there you have the ability to properly kill and loot the place.

Ok, sounds good. However, I do have a small problem, when I get taken in, it seems I cannot fight him, and Lou just talks automatically giving me no chance to move around or even take a shot at him. And after he puts me in the cell, well I have no gear to speak of. So regardless of gear or level, if things stay the same, I will always end up beaten with no gear, or dipped in FEV.

Hmm, strange. I always got the opportunity to run when he exits the conversation to beat you, after that he starts talking again. As soon as the conversation ends and he comes for you, just start running or enter combat. I think you have to discuss what he wants from you, refuse to tell him and he will try beating it out of you. That should give you the opportunity to make a run for it, at least that's what I remember from that situation.
