There's no real reason it won't run on Windows 7.

In fact, there's only a handful of games that can't run on a Windows that is "better" than the one that they were orginally released on. Case in point; Diablo II still runs, and it was released in the days of Windows 95/98. In fact, you only need to worry about DOS programs.

And I can guarantee you that the Fallout Trilogy is NOT a DOS program.

If your PC supports the Virtual XP mode, then there is no reason at all why it wont work.

Contrary to popular belief Windows is very backwards compatible; Fallout works perfectly fine on Vista 64-bit, so I can't imagine it having any issues on the allegedly superior Windows 7.

I have windows 7 and I can't get the trilogy to work properly. A lot of the pixels act weird and change different colors.

Are you running it in Compatability mode? Are you sure it's installed correctly? Are your drivers up to date?

It's likely an issue with the OS itself, then. Not much you can do until Microsoft releases an update for it, unless you feel like hacking your OS (which is never a good idea unless you know exactly what you are doing.)

It could also be that the Fallout Trilogy finally went obsolete for you; after all, how old is it? If it's obsolete, then there's not much to be done other than hope that Interplay releases a patch for it... which probably will never happen, sadly.

Easy to fix; using sfall (included on the cd if you bought fallout recently, otherwise grab it from my website,) change the Mode=0 line in the [Graphics] section of ddraw.ini to 4. You can also use the hi-res patch and pick the 16 bit colour mode for fallout versions that sfall doesn't support.

I wont be trying an Asuran. And probably unlikely to try a charr as well....

A Sylvari, Norn and a human are the likely culprits for me.
