Portable houses and yurts

Post » Sat Sep 25, 2010 9:38 am

I am really dying for a portable yurt, but the ones I've found are really buggy. There is one called Aftershock's that I think has a quest and a variety of stuff you can buy, and one where you buy it in the Zainab camp and it is a portable tent and a stake that you have to place.

Both of these are great (especially that too-awesome quest. Well done hon!) and I love that the yurts have no furniture, but they constantly crash on either exit, or entry with companion.

Are there any fixes for these? I couldn't find any on PES. Is there another mod you would recommend? I really want it to be a yurt. I want it to blend. I loved a ranger tent you could buy, but it was green and orange striped. Not exactly unobtrusive!

Thanks for your suggestions.

I don't have a portable yurt, but maybe http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=8212 would interest you? :D

Is http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7242 one of the ones you've already tried?

I noticed there's an enhanced version of this classic:

[advertisemant] I also made a mod with a big and a small ashlander tent and much more ashlands-stuff, called http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=8358. Should be relatively bug-free (means, you won't see CtDs) Unfortunately it is in german but it should also work with the english version of MW. Thought, I throw it in the pot, just in case you can't decide... ;)[/ad]

i use ashlanders tent which is a yurt. and have never had a crash due to a companion. though i also use improved teleportation i think its called. with this. i simply go into the tent with companion waiting out side. then i simply call my companion to me. same thing to exit. works well and as i said ive never had a crash using this mod.

Wow guys, thanks for the awesome suggestions. Is there a translation guide for the French and German mods? I would like to know how to use them.

I was using Aftershocks and it constantly crashed. I was using another one with a stake and a bedroll that becomes a yurt. It is completely empty inside so no, it wasn't the one suggestion. That one has mannequins and all kinds of stuff. I never did see the purpose of a mannequin. I really liked this one because it is empty inside and you can furnish it how you like with the furniture store in Balmora Expanded! It lends authenticity.

I started using Princess Pocket Homes and it was working just fine, but when I went inside, everything was yellow exclamations. So I went out and found that none of the Icons, Textures and Meshes folders unpacked. I had to take them out and drag all the items out manually. This seemed to screw the game because now it's nothing but CTDs. I can't even initiate the game. How unpacking stuff could make that happen, I don't know. But those homes look really great!

I'm looking forward to trying your suggestions but I can't read the information. Can you tell me if it allows companions without complicated spells and if by chance any of them are empty inside?

What is that improved teleportation mod you were talking about? That sounded really interesting!

Thanks again for your input! The Aslander tent is awesome. It is designed well, it looks great, it works great and I can have my companion with me! I'm also really excited because I learned about the Interior weather through this mod. I can't wait to see the tent shake in the wind!
