Anyone aware of such a mod that lets your character create and combine spells just like the merchants do, but doing it yourself? Thanks.

Thanks for the link. I am a little reluctant with mods that don't come from PES, I guess I rely to much on the voting and rating thing.
Come to think of it I don't have a single mod from anywhere else but PES. Well, Ice Robs are awesome!

Do you use it and how does it work? The read-me doesn't describe it to much. Thanks again!

I believe that there is a Tome like it in Uvirith's Legacy, but maybe I'm wrong. I have used it though and it works straight simply and to the point. It behaves just like an NPC with spellmaking without any dialog.

OK, got it up and running great. And it's like you said, straight up like a game NPC...but...I don't like the idea of paying.
Who are you paying in this mod? Yourself? And the weight is a little much but....

I can see this mod going deeper be giving the player a skill call Spell Creating that relies on Intelligence as a governing attribute.
Now that would be interesting. Kinda like creating a potion.

Anywho....thanks for the mod link.

Tome of Ancient Knowledge is a decent mod, but you are not paying anyone for. It is a mechanic so that you are paying the invisible NPC but your money are redunded as far as I remember.

However, personally I like http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=2031 better. It gives you a spell called Spell Preperation and gives you "spell making energies" based on your magic skills that will determine the power of your spell.
