Unfortunately, you fell for it the second you allowed it to do a "scan", it was a fake AV that pretends to be Microsoft Security Essentials. It also is very new, so not much information on it yet

Ya i'm starting to think my laptop maybe toast and i'll have to complete reformat the whole thing which will piss me off to no end.

Thanks for the information DEFRON i'll be sure to keep it on hand. Just did a scan with AVAST and shutdown the laptop then rebooted it. Didn't get the prompt this time that Think Point needs to scan my system and everything seems alright. However i'm going to go through my task manager and see if it's still running the hotexe file. Did notice that AVAST caught the hot.exe file which maybe why it booted up correctly.
