Windows Key

Post » Sat Sep 25, 2010 7:49 pm

Adding on to my last thread about my laptop biting the dust, I downloaded a vista recovery disk, (Defron) I believe posted it, and when I loaded it , and had no OS to install, but there was an option to enter your windows key. On my laptop this is a sticker on the back, HOWEVER ONE number got rubbed off, and I cannot make out what it is, nor will my laptop boot up, so I can find it. Is there ANY possible way to find out the serial number?

Call the laptop manufacturer.

Ahhh, damn Toshiba, I will need a 30$ phone bill charge for being out of warranty, but I will have to do this. Thanks.

Or a 1 in 36 for numbers and letters.

I don't think windows has a for lock-out repeat serial attempts, so the chance of getting it correct is actually 1.

WELL. I got my OS reinstalled, all it took was a nother shot at the Toshiba Recovery Partition on my hardrive!
This can be locked, thanks for all the help, plus the others who helped in my previous thread. :)
