Wrye Mash Standalone worth using?

Post » Sun Sep 26, 2010 4:44 pm

Can someone tell me if the standalone for Wrye Mash is better to use (without all the techinical stuff) or the Python+exPython (I think it was called)+Wrye Mash?

Thanks for any help I get.

(I'm going to try the standalone right now anyway. I'm asking because I'm looking for good graphics mods, am using http://btb2.free.fr/morrowind.html for a graphics mod list right now, but this post :http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1060141-mod-recommendations-for-new-players/page__p__15392814__fromsearch__1&#entry15392814 says I should learn to use Wrye Mash with mods since it is very helpful, so I am going to try. ^_^)

Yes I would recommend that, because http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1106095-wrye-mash-stand-alone/page__view__findpost__p__16256008 doesn't have the folder restrictions as Wrye Mash (require Python 2.5) has.

If you're on Windows 7 don't install any Bethesda games or related tool to the "C:\Program Files" and here is more http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/781497-vistawindows-7-problems/ to read. :read:
You should have no problem with the install folder of "C:\Program" though unless you have a restricted access to such software installation.

What Pluto said on that thread is only an advice if you want a healthy modded Morrowind and probably gamesaves as well.
The loadorder of mods has it's own tool called http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1083121-relz-mlox-a-tool-for-anolyzing-and-sorting-your-load-order/. I hope this is helpful to you.

Mmmm, well I'm using my external, but it's in Program Files(x86), because that is where my Morrowind game is. I could just move it onto the external instead of putting it in there, but is it fine in there? o_o? And I have no idea how to use python T_T...

Edit: I am nabbing python and wxPython from that page. >.> I hope it works. I already have Wrye Mash downloaded, so...

Edit2: Alright, I am not sure how to install Wrye Mash, and I didn't get much help from the readme or googling the subject. Someone want to assist?

Edit 3: Never mind, found it in the readme. Jeez, you think they'd put that more toward the top... Owo;;

Edit 4: It works! :D Now I just need to figure out how to use it. :foodndrink:
