You see, I started playing these games with Morrowind, I was in my early 20's, and had all the time in the world for it.
I couldn't wait for part 4 and the 4 year wait KILLED me!! However, I appreciated getting some news here and there; a screenshot, a bit on gameplay, for God's sake, just them telling me what the title was kept me hooked the whole way. When it finally came out, I was 26, just moved into my own house, and was finishing school. My time for the game was considerably shorter than I would have liked but after about a year with it, had finally finished it (along with Shivering Isles) and hunkered down for news of part 5.
Well, we are going on 4 years since the RELEASE of Oblivion in 2006 and you mean to tell me there is NOTHING they can tell us????
Since when did releasing news about a game become so damn top-secret??? I just don't understand how, and lets be honest, after how many dump truck loads of monet they have made from Oblivion and Fallout 3 that this process can't be expedited just a little bit?? You can't even give us an idea, a screen shot, a title, just something to let us know that you are working on it? Why does video game development have to be more closely guarded than Nuclear Passcodes?? I can understand a new console, but a game?? This is absurdly ridiculous. We, the loyal fan, after 4 years, can't even get them to admit they are working on it. If they are waiting for new hardware, I guess I can understand that. However, if thats the case, 2012 seems to be the universal release date for the new systems, at which time I'll be a couple years from FORTY and have kids in high school.
I guess my whole point is:
1. I was venting
2. I'm getting rather bored and un-interested.
3. I feel like waiting 6+ years for a game is just too long.
To the devs: Thank you so much, I loved TES and know it takes alot of hard work to make them happen. I'm not trying to blame anyone, I just feel like we, as true fans for the last decade or so, are just being left in the dark.
Thanks for your time.
