Can I advertise my new forum?

I just made it, it's quite revolutionary, took me several hours.

No advertising here, sorry.

EDIT: Perhaps I misread the rules..... I'm pretty sure there's no advertising here.

What if I say "PM me and I'll give you the URL" but don't actually include the URL in the post?

Moderator: Use of the PM system to advertise is frowned upon, don't do that either.

You can't advertise directly here, but as far as I know, there is no rule of putting a link in your signature. So you could go ahead and do that. (I THINK it's not against the rules. Correct me if I'm wrong.)

I guess that's allowed if they want the URL.

EDIT: In your signature? no, as far as I know.

You can slap it in your signature, if you would like. There are several others doing it. As long as it's not along the lines of "Click this link and get 800MS POINTS!!!". I really don't see anything wrong with even posting it here. (Don't take my word for it though) In the New Vegas forum someone posted the new Nexus, so why would a forum not be accepted? Ask a moderator though, I wasn't forced to read memorize the rules word for word like the mods were. Those rules are like their honor code or something. I hear stories of the would-have-been mods that got a word wrong while reciting the rules... scary stuff man, scary stuff.

Isn't this thread kinda self-defeating and a form of meta-advertisemant?

Nope, but what you are able to do is read the rules rather than make a thread asking about something in them. That, or use the constant example of threads being closed for advertising on a daily basis.

Taken from our http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/724862-forum-rules-and-general-information/

3. Advertising is not allowed.

Please do not use these forums to advertise your non-Elderscrolls, Fallout or Bethesda developed or produced related forum/website. We make exceptions however, as many people like to post links to websites in the Community Discussion forum such as showing off their work, or linking to something funny or a link to illustrate a point. We do not allow threads to be created for things such as classified advertising for business, sales, or to seek users/moderators for your personal forum.
There is a pinned thread for fansites in the Oblivion General section, Morrowind General Section and Fallout site the Fallout General section where you may post your Oblivion or Fallout site. Please ensure your site is appropriate for this forums members. You may also place a link in your signature to your site as long as it is appropriate.
