Laptop powerful enough?

Hello, i recently picked up this game and like many others have had nothing but problems. Now i usually would have bought this game on Xbox 360 for little to no lag gamepla. I recently purchased a new laptop and thought hey why not play the game to the max. this is not the case...

These are my system specs:

Alienware M17x
Intel i7 Q 820 (4 cpu) 8mb cache @ 1.73 ghz
windows 7
8 Gb DDR3 ram @ 1033mhz
X 2 ATI radeon 5870 1 ghz running crossfire
Intel centrino Ultimate-N 6300 agn network adapter
256gb solid state hdd

Should there be any reason for this build to not put out high fps gaming on anything higher than medium settings?

There seems to be trouble with more modern GPU's. The game engine is simply not working well with the newer cards.
It depends on your system as a whole ofcourse and not all modern cards or even near-identical systems have the same problem. But overall there is some driver flaw which supposedly is being looked into by obsidian and the driver developers (Nvidia/Ati mainly).
