Video Eyewear for Xbox 360

Post » Fri Oct 01, 2010 12:00 am

Does anyone use video eyewear or video glasses with their Xbox 360 console? I'm looking at the Vuzix Wrap 920 and the iTV Goggles HQ3D or PCX3D. I like the privacy they offer so I don't interfere with other family members. I'm concerned about image quality. They offer 640 x 480 pixel resolution or better. Can the small writing be read on the Pip Boy, etc. I don't know of any locations in Northern Virginia offering these or similar products . Thanks.

I would venture to say the image quality with any "video glasses" is going to be pretty terrible compared to use of a TV or computer monitor hooked into the Xbox 360. They're meant to be a travel accessory, not an entertainment center. If thats what your family will require, you're going to see the video quality wrecked.

Not meaning to offend, but what's wrong with playing the game reguarly like using your eyes to read the stuff on the TV screen? That's what I do (and I have glasses). Why the need to use sci-fi like goggles to enjoy the game?

Maybe you can send an email to the company? or just make a call?
I suppose these things cost a lot of money too so its good to ask around. And if it is actually possible..it would be very epic! :P

1. The reviews I've read are mixed. They are also tv/movie specific. I can't tell if the refresh rate is fast enough. I'd also like to know about small text quality, specific to Fallout 3. Might be interesting to get an opinion from someone using the game on a PC with their monitor set to 640 x 480.

2, This type of eyewear is priced between $200.00 and $500.00. They're made to give a view similar to a large screen tv (up to 80"). For a single user, these glasses would be cheaper than the tv. To date, I've been using a 26" regular tv and the Pip Boy text isn't the easiest to read.

3. I'm leary about the manufacturer''s opinion. I want an independant response with no buy/sell pressure. I'm not one to blindly buy and return but that's an option.

I've lived in Northern Virginia all my life. I love the combination of fact and fiction in traveling the Wasteland. I have over 400 hours invested in the original Fallout 3, my only game for the xbox 360. Haven't added any of the DLC's yet. I still find things in the Wasteland I've missed previously. Bugs have locked me out of a lot of places too. I'm sure this eyewear would be good enough to watch tv or videos. Maybe I'll be the first to try them with Fallout 3. As time passes, a high enough quality product will hit the market. The question is "Is it here yet?".

Thanks for the responses.
