saves

so.. since this most recent patch, i've noticed that when i exit the game, saves revert to what they were before the patch, so my autosave is always the same, and if i save over another save then it reverts. howeer, as long as i stay in the game this doesnt happen. also, if i save in a new slot that appears to remain through turning off the system. so i've found an effective workaround, but i really hope this gets fived in the next patch, or is fixable on my end somehow. any advice?

I lost an entire day of playing to this bug. The game is using save files stored in a read-only directory inside the Steam directory instead of the ones in the default location. If you delete the regular save files it just keeps restoring them from the other location. If you delete the read-only files you can make a new quick save, but it's locked again after you close the game. It's frustrating as hell, because there is no indication it isn't saving properly until you close and re-open the game. I'm not sure if the patch fixes this behaviour. I manually save with the console now.
