Unofficial Enclave Discussion Thread

QUOTE: They are going to govern what they build out of the ashes of the War. In order to do so, they need a stable foundation, which they can't ensure unless everything impure is dead. You horrify me by your comments, about America being dead. It may be so, but that doesn't mean it can't use a reboot. America, up until the War was the best place on Earth, it deserves to be rebuilt, and if what it takes to do so is such measures, I don't blame them, instead I stand by them.

There comes a time when we must anolyze the good inherent of a given action against the cost. Let's say that Eden's virus will kill 90% of the people in the wasteland. It's probably much higher, but we'll be generous. That means that for every man, woman, and child who receives the hope of a better life, nine others must die. That is too high a price. If someone handed me a gun and promised me a million dollars if I would kill nine randomly selected human beings, I assure you that the only person I would shoot would be him.

Furthermore, the persecution and destruction of persons believed to be "inferior" exemplifies America when it was at its worst (the so-called "manifest destiny" of the 1800's). That is not the America we need to revive. the America we need to revive is the America that we Regulators seek to establish: the America where people work hard and ask the government for nothing other than its basic function. Where the rights of others are respected, and where diversity and tolerance are the rule rather than the exception. And, where evildoers face swift, certain, severe justice.

I am a Regulator. I stand against the Enclave and their nightmarish dreams of domination and genocide. You know what list to put me on.

Heh, I used to be a Regulator. Ask Chriso. Sure, they're doing good, and would make an excellent police force, but they're small scale, I have risen above it. (In reality, Im still very much into Regulators, but Enclave trumps it)

Look at it this way. Maybe the man offered you to kill nine randomly selected people, but those people were all cancer patients, that would die a slow miserable death otherwise. And the reward wasn't a million dollars, but a promise that if these nine die, a hundred may live. That's more like the Enclave's cause. It's not an easy decision, but it is a necessary evil. Sure, the thousands living in the Wasteland would die, but imagine the millions that would live prosperously as a result. If a man knew his death would mean saving millions, he would willingly give up his life (If he's good).

Let's imagine the Enclave won, and they've restored America to the evil dictatorship you claim it is, the people will be empowered eventually, it may take hundreds of years, but Rome wasn't built in a day. If indeed Enclave are bad, there will be a rebellion then. That rebellion will be one of pure humans, and they will take control, eventually it will turn into the America we all know. If the Enclave is indeed evil, atleast their path is right. Having a little faith in the government system will do everyone good in the end, in some way or form, eventually.

Actually a mechanism to allow the President to maintain power in the case of a catastrophic event was put in place by Bush in 2007.

Your point is?

That doesn't really refute my point that the man is a sociopath.

I'm not crazy, it's the rest of the world that's crazy.

Oh there's Enclave deserters. There were some in Fallout 2, there was one in Fallout 3, and there will possibly be more in New Vegas.

Sure he's a sociopath, but his cause is just.

No, that's not his way of thinking, there are several Enclave supporters, as you can see.

I haven't played 2, so I didn't know, thank you for informing me. However, as I haven't played it, or known the circumstances surrounding it, I am unable to justify.

They are using the old one from Fallout 2

Who is? If you mean New Vegas, but of course. If you mean Fallout 3, HELL NO

The power armor in Fallout 2 and 3 are very different.

Closed as a fan club, which we don't allow.

Serve your country -- join the Enclave today! Apply via PM.

Ahh, good to see the Enclave fanclub return..

Plus there is a lot of off topic spam rather than a discussion about the Enclave, politics inevitably crept in and there is a lot of pointless chat - indicative of the real reason for this topic.

Please do not start another.
