In the http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/01/10/video-behind-the-scenes-of-skyrim.aspx video at 3:48 you can clearly see some concept art the guy's working on is an archer getting ready to fire a flaming arrow. Fun!

For other info found in the Behind-the-scenes info go http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1157211-skyrim-information-explanation-and-compilation/ Feel free to post any information that isn't posted there and you think it should be and cite your source for review. Also possible Javelins in the concept art so throwing weapons may be back in the game.

I was just thinking about creating a thread about this, luckily I used the search function first.

I think this is brilliant, archery needs more diversity in TES. I'm just hoping they don't make these arrows require magicka.

Morrowind and Oblivion had these too you know, it's called fire damage. The only difference now is that they've added a cool new effect.

Not to burst anyone's bubble but this is all concept art. A lot of stuff gets drawn in concept art but not all of it is included in the game. Just google the female daedric armor concept art for OB, you'll see what I mean.

There's a mod for Oblivion called (aptly) Flaming Arrows, that adds similar effects - I see little reason why it couldn't be done for skyrim, unless it's always been an intentional stylistic choice.

I would take the concept art with a grain of salt. It's just a concept, an idea. It might or might not be included. In any case, it's just a drawing by an artist who thought it looked cool :)
