TES houses

Ok from playing Oblivion for many of hours and days I just thought of why don't we have nice houses like that? Sure they're old fanshioned but they look well made and I wouldn't mind a wood stove and whatnot but having a house from live Anvil with modern appliances would rock ! your ideas below

We d have houses like that. Anvil like houses aren't unusual on the coast, and Chorrol houses are ten a penny. (well, they're common, but they're damn expensive). My grandparents have a Dwemer wood buring stove, though. They have a huge lean-to full of wood.

Move to Europe. Everything's nicer and more old-fashioned over there.

I'd like to have one built for me from a massive table of options.

With advances in architecture and cheaper, more efficient building materials we don't build houses and buildings like we used to. Well, sometimes we do, but these are often very expensive specialized houses and buildings, not your run-of-the-mill house you see now a days. So if you want a TES house, get some money, hire an architect, have him play Oblivion, and take some notes. ;)

Ok, I'm an idiot. Too early in the morning.
I thought we were discussing homes in-game. You mean in-game home styles translated to real-life construction.
 @ me.

Yeah, if you want to see a lot of that, I'd say old Europe, or old New England. Salem, Mass has some gabled roofs and whatnot.
