Things get progressively worse?

Post » Wed Oct 06, 2010 7:16 pm

At first I thought all the complainers were crazy. My game was fine. It froze maybe once a week. Now after many hours into the game; I am at a point that it crashes every half an hour or even sooner sometimes. Is this your experience? This is BS. I am returning the game today, if I could only find my receipt...

I haven't played in over a week now because it got to the point it freezes within 5 minutes EVERY time. Yet I still come here daily, foolishly hoping they will release a patch that will let me turn this shiny coaster into a game...

The glitches are getting more frequent. After level 18 are just more and more and this isn't a new problem because this happened in f3 aswell.

Something might need to be done because if I'm not the only one with this problem people are going to stop paying for admission. ( if you know what I meen)

Well, in my game(s) I've had no problems whatsoever UNTIL I reach lvl 30 - after I reach lvl 30, my PS3 freezes roughly every 35-40min, graphical glitches galore (don't ask me why I'm only getting them now), long loading times (my record is 5mins) sometimes it just doesn't load at all.

I'm thinking it has to do with the size of the save games and how they load into memory and how the PS3 accesses this memory. I know this, once my save games hit 9MB in size - that's when the problems started for me.. My save games are currently just over 10MB now.

Same thing with me. The game only froze infrequently until I reached level 22. Now it freezes every few minutes or so. I stopped playing altogether when I realized I was spending more time rebooting the game than actually playing it. Hopefully this upcoming patch they mention in the sticky fixes this. At least I have other games to finish while I wait.

I had just reached level 29 when it went into the weeds. I returned it yesterday after fighting with the best buy employee. They wanted to exchange it for the same game. I said no unless there was a new version out what's the point. She said no ones else returned it so there wasn't a problem with the game. I was like no that isn't going to cut it. She then solicited opinions from the staff who must have told her what's up and they let me get another game (AC brotherhood). I want to finish this game so I hope there is a fix.

Just thought I would point out this post from our Community Manager (in another thread):

Talaran is right. We're getting to the finish line, but it's very hard to speculate on an exact date. A few weeks back I could have speculated on the date, and I would have been wrong. We typically only give updates when we have substantive info to share.

As mentioned previously, we should have an update soon on all three platforms (PC, 360, and PS3). Will they all come out at the same time? That's our hope. Keep in mind it's a different process to get the patch/update out on Xbox, PC, and PS3 (it's actually two process for PS3... Europe and North America).

Once the update starts becoming available, we'll let everybody know. We'll share details in the pinned threads (across in FNV General Discussion and in the support boards), as well as on the blog.

Thanks for your patience.

I agree although I personally suspect some other issues are involved, I had a lot of problems with Fallout 3 freezing up on me. That was the bulk of the issues I had with that game, other than some minor sound file and v.a.t.s. glitches. Interestingly enough I stopped playing New Vegas about two weeks ago to play Castlevania Lords of Shadow and earlier today I decided to put New Vegas in and about three or four minutes into the game it froze...Needless to say I decided to watch a movie instead. Oh and on a side note Castlevania LOS is...ok...bad camera work and it has almost nothing to do with the games overall story but this is for a different forum really.

I quit playing for awhile, due to the bugs & freezing issues. But went back to it like a crack addict during some time off during Thanksgiving break.
Freezing got progressively worse until my PS3 died while playing NV.
Dead. Out of warranty. Just saying.
Got a new PS3, under warranty.
