NCR Faction Resetting

Post » Fri Oct 08, 2010 2:15 pm

So my NCR faction was at Accepted, but it has reset to Neutral, I had been wearing the NCR Ranger armor for most of my play through so far, and I hear that there is a bug with the NCR faction armor resetting your faction once you take it off, has this been confirmed to be the issue?
Also does anyone know if this affects all NCR faction armor?
And is there anyway to work around this known?

If you are at the part in the Strip where you are approached by an NPC telling you to speak to the NCR ambassador you are presented with a pardon that forgives any past transgressions which resets your faction to neutral in case you were vilified or something with NCR. It probably mistakenly sets it to neutral even if you are positively affiliated with them and I'm not sure if you can do anything to increase your standing with them until you finish the NCRs Boomer mission.

I havent reached that part yet, so its definitely a bug resetting it. ANd to clarify all my other factions have stayed the same only NCR changed.

I've experienced the same thing, with gaining NCR rep, and having it disappear after unequipping a NCR armor. I've read about others having it aswell. Not sure if it's just NCR or if it's the same when wearing any of the faction armors.

I haven't noticed it happening with my other factions, at least not yet.

You can check to see if this issue was corrected by asking a pc user who has the second patch

The second PC patch is the patch we got yesterday right? I haven't gotten a chance to play and check it out yet.

That happened to me when I wasn't wearing any armor. My rep with the NCR and Powder Gangers reset to Neutral. I just reloaded a previous save and so far, after 8 hours of play, it has worked fine.

I've noticed that when I equip the NCR armor they disappear off of my Pip Boy's reputation screen. Not sure if that is intentional or not, but it seems like it was not meant to happen.

There is no patch from last night. if you got an update, its from deleting your 1st patch again while resetting cache.

So guessing no one knows if this happens with all NCR armor? I was using the ranger scout armor I think and that caused the reset.

This is most definitely a bug. I had the same thing happen to me, well... sort of.

I went and did the quest at Hoover Dam to protect the president and when I turned it in I got the dialog box saying I was accepted. I checked my pipboy and 60% of my factions weren't showing, not even CL whom I was vilified with. Weird, but I just wanted to finish up my NCR toon so I didn't care too much, at least it didn't err towards vilified. Anyway, as soon as I was done talking to Gen. Oliver and went through a door I killed one CL and all my faction reps went back to normal.
