Mod Question

Post » Mon Oct 11, 2010 2:57 am

I have come into the modding scene a little late, been playing Morrowind since the release on both Xbox and PC. I really want to contribute back to the Morrowind community, and help with the longevity to the game, so I have a question for the community. What type of mod is missing? What is a niche that you would like to see filled?

I don't think this is the right board for this per-ce but I'll answer anyways. I think that if you really want to keep this game alive you should look into the http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/ project. It is great, its almost like an expansion pack... heck it is an expansion pack :D

You should just make the type of mods that you would like to see in the game. It doesn't matter if they've been done before, options to choose from are always good.
The best way to know what might be lacking, is to start playing/investigating mods and learning what works and what doesn't.

Here are a couple of ideas I'd like to see implemented:

1. Something to involve Ahnassi in the PC's life after the vanilla romance quests are done. Some possibilities: she moves into the player's Great House stronghold; she becomes a companion whose presence increases the player's Sneak and Security ratings; she gets kidnapped by the Dark Brotherhood and has to be rescued from Mournhold. (This last idea comes from Arvil Bren's Journal, an excellent fanfic which was out a few years ago.)

2. The mods Rise of House Telvanni, Uvirith's Legacy, Building Up Uvirith's Legacy and LGNPC Tel Uvirith combine to make being the head of House Telvanni an incredibly immersive experience. With these, becoming Archmagister is just the start of your career with the House, not the end. I'd like to see similar mods available for the other two Houses. Someone is http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1106876-early-wipz-house-redoran-expanded/, and they're looking for help.

Pretty much this. Create something that you feel would be fun to make, and if others want it too, all the better. I doubt very many modders have created things without wanting them personally.

This is a common one, though, if you're looking for something huge that isn't Tamriel Rebuilt (or one of the other province projects) :) . We have so much incredible Telvanni content that the other Houses look bare by comparison... maybe one day it will be the other way around!
