hey everybody maybe you can help me out with this. so i recently bought new vegas after a few friends recommended the series, as i am a big fable fan. however, i recently sold my 360 and now game only on my laptop (it svcks, i know). however, i was able to get new vegas to run on my system. after being impressed by the game, i decided to buy fallout 3, since i heard the game had the same engine. i was angry to discover, however, that fallout 3 will not start a new game. it stops working almost immediatley, with no explanation. is it possible my system is able to run a game made in 2010, but not one made in 2008. it seems kinda backwards to me

This would be the problem, Fallout 3 will not run on the Intel chipsets. They are too weak to play the game. (I do believe they made the requirements more lax for FONV). It doesnt have the required shaders to play FO3. The chipset has shader model 2.0 and the game needs 2.0b to run. (And since this is a laptop, there is no chance of upgrading it).
