Changin the colour of a light

I wonder if someone who understands .nifs could give me a few pointers on this?

There exists a rotating 'klaxon' light (seen in the Citadel lab) and an associated rotating 'Klaxon Glow'. I would like to create a new lamp and glow with a different colour. Now, I've re-textured the lamp itself and managed to change the .nif so that the lamp housing itself has the modified colour, and the colour rotates properly. However, although I've changed everything I can find in the .nif for the Glow that has an associated colour, I can't get the glow to alter from the base amber. Changing the colour in the GECK doesn't seem to do anything.

Changing the colour in Blender worked - but then the glow would not rotate.

Bearing in mind I have zero modelling skills and am fumbling around in the dark here, would anyone be able to give me a brief idiot's guide on how this might be achieved?
