OK so in returning to morrowind after a year or so and wanting to upgrade the MGE I had to the latest I had many issues with getting it to run. My OS is vista 64 ultimate. And I did have MGE and many other morrowind utilities working fine last year on this very system.

One proposed answer was to run Morrowind.exe and MorrowindLauncher.exe with admin privileges. I set that then after more tinkering I was able to get the new MGE to load fine. In thinking about it though the previous MGE (just two previous versions ago) did not require elevated priviliges for or from anything.

I don't think that having the two exe run with admin privileges was really required after all - the problem is now I cannot seem to remove the need for elevated privileges. This is annoying as every time I want to run Morrowind I now am prompted for an admin password. I hate that.

I then logged onto my admin account and changed the exe to run without admin privileges but after switching back to regular account the requirement remains.

So how do I remove that requirement?

Please - I already know that UAC is not cool and really annoying so no comments about that or my needing to get another operating system.
Also - no I will not turn UAC off.

I've found many tuturials for giving elevated privileges to applications but not for removing it.
I think though that it is something simple I'm missing. Turning the exe elevation off in admin account did not turn it off in regular user account.
