Adding gun sounds

Post » Fri Oct 15, 2010 2:23 pm

Hi Total newb here, never even touched the GECK. I've recently picked up the Classic Fallout Weapons mod, which includes some modern-day firearms. Some of these are missing firing sounds (the M14 stands out in my mind)... they have reload sounds tho. Is if feasible to add the firing sounds? If anyone has any tips to get me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it. I'm a bit of a babe in the woods here.

TIA!

There are tutorials at the top of this forum that can help you navigate the GECK.

For the gun sounds, you need to have a sound you want to use.
It also could be that you just did not install the mod correctly, and the game just cant find the sounds that came with the mod.

You open the weapon in the 'Object' window, and on the 'Art and Sound' tab you can attach the 'attack sound', 'attack sound (2D)', ect...

Cool, thanks for the info. I'm sure the mod is installed right. Most of the gun sounds work just fine, there's just one or two that don't.

Ok, super sorry to double post, but how do I figure out what mod a weapon is from? Apparently the m14 isn't from the CFW mod.

Nevermind, m14 added by FOOK. Re-install fixed it.
