Debugger Problem.

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:58 am

I've been having a problem playing Morrowind as every time I try to play, It comes up with an error message saying something along the lines of "unload the debugger and try again"

I've tried a lot of things such as searching for 'amdfix.sys' on my files but it doesn't exist.

What do I do?

Take a stroll through http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1051044-debugger-detected/ topic and see if anything fits your situation.

The only thing I have in common with the other person is the original problem.

However, The problem shows itself as soon as I try to start up Morrowind. Instead of starting up, it immediately shows the error message 'A debugger has been detected. Unload the debugger and try again'.

I tried a clean boot, as someone suggested and I still have the same problem.

A Google search on A debugger has been detected showed a wide range of "solutions". See http://forums.techguy.org/games/666434-debugger-has-been-detected-unload.html and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/812759 for two of them. I have no idea why sound card drivers should give you this, but MS seems to thinks it a possibility.
