Daggerfall - Prophet quest

Post » Sun Oct 17, 2010 3:38 pm

I have read numerous posts about this quest for the temple...the one where you are sent on a wild goose chase trying to expose a prophet...and how it leads to dead ends sometimes..well i am a dunmer knight hanging out in phrygias doing quests for stendarr temple...took the quest...figured why not...so of course i was sent to visit a merchant with some info or search the tower of masterly or visit said prophet herself...so i traveled to easttown as suggested and met a merchant in a store..lo and behold he ended up being her lover and had a note disproving her as a prophet...all i had to do was take the note back and that was it..only got a ruby as a reward however...

Daggerfall's quest rewards tend to be rather unsatisfying. If it weren't for the fact the quests themselves weren't so unbelievably fun (no matter how generic they are), people would ignore them.

Yeah, the real reward for the quests is the rep boost and the dungeon loot.

Lately I've been dead ending repeatedly on this quest; the informants won't talk to me. I'm figuring it's because my rep isn't high enough with merchants, so I'm doing some quests for random dudes, before going back to my temple quests.

See i am only a level 2 knight...the only reason i see that the informants deal with me is maybe my 70 personality...because my reps havent raised much...just started...and on the subject of quest rewards i like the mage guild one when you must either slay or side with baltham greymen(sp)...if you kill him you always get a magic item as reward...my old charachter probably killed him like 15 times haha...never tried his alternate questline...think it involves dungeoning..

Oh yeah, it definitely involves some dungeoning. You really ought to try it some time. But... maybe wait until you've got a few levels. The first place Baltham sends you is a doozy...
