DLCs?

Post » Mon Oct 18, 2010 11:34 am

And why do you hate it? :ermm:

Because

Pre-launch DLC svcks because the content is allready there, they just don't give it to you so they can milk you out of your hard-earnd cash. (The Halo: Reach noble map pack did this, and i will never buy it.)

I genuinly hope there is a big long gap between release and DLC, or none at all.

I ment it was in COD:WaW first as in WaW had nazi zombies and came out before blackops, WaW had nazi zombies before blackops, some people dont know that and think only balckops has it

Fun fact: Nazi Zombies did appear for the first timer in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUemv6hW2S8, 1977. (Afaik.)

Because once, they were almost human.

A new huge ship arrives at the Ark, introducing a whole new faction and 3 new maps, including new weapons. (Unplayable faction?) (Playable?)
The new faction is enemy to both existing factions, and they have to fight them.

Most likely, the most a DLC will be is a couple extra maps. If we're lucky. Probably, there will be no DLC.

I can see a ship crashing into a part of the Ark containing hostile AI's with one new map (Which is the ship) Both factions are trying to secure supplies and maybe obtain the ship as a base or something. The AI's are scared so they fight back. New weapons could be an option.

They have to include DLC at some point, if only to add the female character models. New customization options would most likely be a given too - extra bling for your toons and all - as well as a few extra missions. An extra story Ark (ah, see what I did there?) of some sort maybe :

Of course, we have no idea so far how the story unfolds, so this is mere speculation, but having read what little background I could, it seems the Revolution thinks the Founders are keeping them in isolation on purpose. What if they are? Or are not? Maybe stumble upon an island and get a glimpse of what life is now like on the few remaining pieces of land...

So, possible DLC I can see would be :
- Female models and archetypes
- Extra cosmetic options (new archetypes?)
- Extra missions / story arks

I highly doubt the female character models, if you haven't done research on that then I suggest you do because then you'll understand. If you have done research then I don't know why you would mention it if you did understand. I'm not saying Female Characters won't be a good idea, its just not entirely possible unless you want all of the games features to be cut in half.

Actually, I did read/listen to everything they said about the character models. And I completely agree. However, what I got out of it was not "We won't ever do it, would take too much time and resources" but rather "We won't do it for launch, as that would either divert key resources that need to be applied to the male character models and reduce overall quality of the game, or delay the game further. Once that's out of the way, we'll look back into it."

Hell, didn't Bethesda run a survey where they specifically asked if we'd be interested in seeing the female model being offered as DLC? (Can't for the life of myself find that link now, hopefully will still be in my history list at work when I go back on friday)

Something that involved isn't likely to become a DLC for a new IP.

But then the game would feel more like MAG , also i will say again, new weapons will probably make it unbalanced, also, ussaly addons that give players more stuff then others such as guns can be game breaking for those who do not get the DLC. Maps/mission addons are fine and so are new archtypes and gun skins.

I hope there will be challenges of this kind for the light bodytype.

It's like Trials then, you can compete with your friends for the best time/score.

Unless they have a way of generating random maps or something of the likes (or maybe the same maps with a way to randomly block/open alternate paths) I can't see this one working; after a while, everyone will know what's THE optimal run trough and just stick to that one. No?

Even if that's so (see Mirror's Edge; or any racing game for that matter), your skill is still very important to make use of the best way in the best way. ;)
