Cobl Races/cosmetic Rez/tnr Question

Post » Tue Oct 19, 2010 8:05 pm

OK I think I've fixed my problem! Drake mentioned OBMM BSA alteration and I thought about my settings in OBMM - so I set those back to the original settings and things look ok now! Not only is the black face gone but with natural faces and my patch my character's skin texture and color looks back to normal. I changed these settings shortly before I tried loading TNR races, so I must not have noticed that coloring difference in my face or body (the more orangy color). I'm still going to install ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated and look at BAIN.

Also copying this whole thread to my files to archive - lots of very helpful hints in here. Thank you to everyone who gave me all the hints I needed to get this back to normal.

P.S. The mod that I changed the BSA settings for in OBMM was "Beaming Sunglare" which I love. The instructions say " set bsa redirect to BSA Alt, and also check Normal Maps (from Unchecked). <====== this is what I changed back to normal in OBMM to fix my face+skin textures problem. I'm hoping ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated will help me be able to keep Beaming Sunglare because I love that effect.

Having multiple archive invalidation things is not necessary. As long as you have the BSA redirection ticked-off in both OBMM and BAIN and install everything through those two utilities, you do not need to do anything else.

Well the only reason I changed that in OBMM is because the author of the mod Beaming Sunglare specified to do so. But I did load that archive invalidation invalidated and ticked off bsa redirect like you said. Now I http://i40.tinypic.com/2a4tpit.jpg! I'm going to look into BAIN now and learn how to use that tool now.

Some older mods may have other directions. A lot of them used to include pics of "proper" archive invalidation settings, but you can ignore those now. (I used to just script those images not to be installed or deleted them.)
