[WIP]Tribunal Alternate Ending

Sotha Sil is a chimer wizard, a humanoid. He was not constructed or something, despite his appearance. I disagree on this idea, he should have normal voice.

even though he is not a construct, some parts of his body are clearly mechanics. He is a cyborg. BUt if anyone wants to record his own voice and give it to Sotha Sil, would be good :)

I was originally going to go the Vivec route and just not have any voiced dialogue. If someone wants to record their own dialogue, that'd be great.

@Anteres- Most of his dialogue will be unvoiced, so if you just want to do some greetings, that'd be fine :)

Also, on the Sotha Sil robot/Chimer debate, I would say that it looks like his arm and lower body are the only 'robotic' parts-- I would argue that the main body is intact, and just encased in a very robotic looking cuirass. However, I like the robotic voice. Could it possibly be brought lower in pitch, and maybe have more of a 'booming' quality given to it?

Cool stuff here, you could have Morgiah be an http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Classes#Agent with powerful summoning spells, like a single summon spell with doubles or even triple and quads of different undead summons, say that the king of worms taught her the way of the necromancer etc.

I think the agent class could work out well, its got the skills a person like her description says might use.

The main part of her attacks in open combat would definitely be summonings seeing how she's the cloak and dagger type including the illusion skill for hiding and manipulating people.

Quick status update- progress on this is at a standstill. I wanted to figure out the scripting for myself, but failed miserably at it. Too ambitious for a first project, perhaps? ;)

I'm on break and operating off my netbook right now, so I won't be able to get help on this until 2010, but once I do, if anyone with knowledge of scripting wants to help, speak up. I'll send you a PM with the details :D

Thanks in advance

any news from this?

I have found here some words of Sotha Sil (unofficial lore, I suppose)

http://www.imperial-library.info/obscure_text/sotha_sil.shtml

maybe they could be of some use.

Well, this mod was one of the many casualties of the Great Hard Drive Crash of 2010, so if I'm going to do anything on this, it's going to be from scratch. Which is a shame, because I had some custom models and textures for Morrigan's face/hair that I'd rather not make again

Still, I'll probably start work on this again sometime soon. I'm just not feeling motivated right now :meh:

EDIT: Thanks for the link, though. I'll take a look in preparation for "next time" :P

sure. I imagine he moves as a robot. Or, perhaps, he could be similar to how he is in Tribunal, I mean linked to the machines that he is part of. THe only difference is that he can move, attack etc...

ABout the plot, I understand, you want to preserve all the Tribunal and keep it alive. I agree, but the final boss should be something more than a dunmer. Perhaps another evil god?
It is the final fight of Tribunal, after all, and I would expect none less than a god at the very end, like in the other main quests (Hircine and Dagoth Ur).

I'd say have him "plugged in" to his machines, so that he can direct a roomful of machines to attack you. I think that fits his personality a little better. He's sort of the Tribunal version of a bookworm, and I don't see him personally fighting. He would use his machines.

The purpose of this mod isn't to fight Sotha Sil. Quite the opposite, in fact ;)

Perhaps I misunderstood. Maybe when you get to his dome, he's alive, and when Almalexia appears he directs his machines to attack HER. Then you can choose to attack her as well, or attack Sotha's Machines. Attacking the machines allows Almalexia to kill Sotha, thus giving you a way to access the original storyline while still having the choice.

Also think it would be cool to have Sotha join vivec in his palace if you spare him. Or have Vivec pop in to the chamber after Almalexia's defeat for a few words.

Well, when I saw this thread I just had to register to voice my support since this is one those mod ideas that I'd dreamed about being made. Never getting to meet Sotha Sil was a dissapointment and I always wanted to have the chance to save the Tribunal. It's a shame that you lost your original work but I hope you continue on with this idea :goodjob:

Now here's some pointers I just want to shoot out.

1. Try to keep the original storyline in mind. Almaelexia's madness, for example, should definately stay a part of the story since it's such central part of it. She became mad because of losing her godhood with the destruction of the Heart of Lorkhan. Killing Sotha-Sil and trying to kill the Neverarine were all part of a dislusional plan to perserve her power  The idea of the Neverarine curing her madness would be a very promising idea and would perserve the basic structure of Tribunal's story.

2. Sotha Sil's dialogue need's to be very cool. Make sure you're famililar with his character when writing it. Also his skin should be gray. When Azura cursed the Chimer and turned them into Dunmer, Sotha-Sil took on their new skin color to comfort them (Almalexia kept her golden Chimer look, and Vivec became half gold, half gray)

Other than these, that Fearabbit guy had some very nice ideas that I'd love to see in a mod. Of cource, you're welcome to make your mod anyway you want, but it never hurts to be open to ideas B)

Well good luck with this mod Saint_Jiud :) make sure to back-up your work this time :brokencomputer: ;)

OK, starting this up again :mohawk: Though there is dangerous precedent for what happens when I do this, I'll be using this to take a short respite from Unique Uniques ;)

@TRYeti- I don't know what to say, I never expected to be the kind of modder who inspires people to register. Real life was getting me down today, so thanks for the kind words :)

The points you make are every bit as valid as when Fearabbit suggested them. Of course, then, I had already written much of the dialogue and created models/textures for the major players, so I was (understandably, I think) very attached to my original ideas. Now that I've got a clean slate, I plan on giving the story a full rewrite :P

the effect is called Reverb.

THere are programs that modify sounds, and can also add effects like this to your audio files. I'll try to find one.

I just thought I'd shoot out some ideas that I have floating around in my head about an alternate Tribunal ending.

The way I have it thought up is that everything is kept the same up until the end of the Almalexia fight. Here instead of dieing, she teleports away, or something, when her health gets to a certain point. After she's gone the Neverarine finds that Sotha Sil is still alive -maybe wounded and needing assistance. Anyway, eventually the player get's Sotha Sil's help with stopping Almalexia. Having failed to kill the Neverarine, she has holed herself up in her temple and has become truly deranged- throwing the whole city into even greater chaos. Eventually the Neverarine is able to bring her to her senses, maybe by showing her how much she is loved by her people and that it doesn't matter that she no longer a goddess.

After this there can be some more quests to tie stuff up. Some possible ideas that could be touched on could include:

1. Reorganization of the Temple due to the Tribunal not being gods anymore
2. Dealing with Helseth and all his political schemes
3. Introduce Morgiah as a new antagonist. Maybe she has some sort of dealings with Helseth :shifty:
4. Some sort of quest from Sotha Sil, in which you need to travel deep into a new area of the Clock work city. It could involve one of his mysterious experiments.

Just some ideas I had :) Nothing you need to consider if you already have a good story thought up :goodjob:

I certainly don't want to sound like I'm telling you what to do - :grad:

Surprised I missed this one it sounds great. Just one thing though: I'm sure I read that Almalexia was the only one of the Tribunal to change her appearance back to that of a Chimer and that Sotha Sil chose to remain the dark grey of a Dunmer.

I am also curious about the state of this mod. My hope is that it is still in active development. If so, I would love to help out. If you need any help, that is.
