Lost Official Plug-ins?

Post » Wed Oct 20, 2010 7:26 am

I had to format my drive and neglected to backup my plug-ins for Oblivion (I had all of them). Anyone have advice they can offer on where I can download them again or whom I talk to?

Thanks

AFAIK your only option is to buy the disk that has DLCs (game of the year or whatever). Or wait until they open download site again which will be on midnight 31st April this year.

Yeah you're pretty well hosed for the moment, you can either track down a copy of the KotN disc, which has them all except Battlehorn, or buy the STEAM Deluxe GotY Edition, which includes all the DLC. If you use OBSE though, I understand it can be problematic.

Battlehorn is the only one I don't have, I had it, and either the installer nuked itself or I accidentally deleted it. I have a hard time rationalizing buying another entire copy of the game for a 1.98$ addon. If anyone at Beth reads this, I still have my receipt!

?You should contact http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/user/365941-gstaff/ and see about re-acquiring them.?

Untrue. All current and recent versions of OBSE support the Steam versions of the game. It's a simple matter of choosing the steamloader.dll or the non-steam dll. All in the OBSE readme.

BTW, I run the Deluxe GOTY Steam version, so I do know what I'm talking about.

It's the D2D version that gives you problems with OBSE.

Thanks for tips. I have messaged Gstaff to see if he can offer any assistance.

I find it strange that after so much time the official plug-ins are still not available. It would be nice if they at least gave some way for us to get/buy them.
I should have burned the plug-ins on a disk to be kept with my game disks.

hope i can get them back

It is proving very difficult to get these plug-ins. I can't even buy them again if I wanted to...
I tried contacting Bethesda about it and didn't get a reply.

Kind of disappointing that so little support is offered for them.
Too bad they did not come bundled on a disc - I could have then bought it from Ebay or something but since they are downloads I guess getting them now is a dead end effort.

???? They do come bundled on a disc...Knights of the Nine content compilation disc. Heres a link to ebay for 1 for $4.99 http://cgi.ebay.com/The-Elder-Scrolls-IV-Knights-of-the-Nine-PC-Games_W0QQitemZ370348253189QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo_Games_Games?hash=item563a79e005 and there are quite a few listed for sale on amazon.com.

The KotN disc still doesn't include Battlehorn Castle.

True. The steam GOTY edition does, how ever. But I'm not going to suggest buying the whole game on steam just for one DLC. It's not even that great IMO, and if you use LAME, the dragon sword lesser power is way useless due to the fact that it deals the same amount of damage as a flashbolt, but costs way more.
I'm guessing that the wines might be worth using, but I highly doubt that. Though knowing what the Dwemer Forge does(and where it is in the castle) might sway my opinion a bit. And if it looks awesome, then I'd say that it's up there with the Orrery in terms of being worth the small cash payout.

Finally got through to Bethesda support. I have to show them proof of purchase before they can do anything for me. I am good with keeping email receipts but not that good. I asked if I could purchase them again and was told no - basically dead end.

They did however suggest I buy Knights which I am guessing is the only way to get them again. Key though is to get it for a cheap price - I would gladly pay the $4.99 being asked on Ebay but once you factor in shipping it doesn't seem like such a great deal.

Wish they would just bundle all the official plug ins and sell them as one - you know? (wishful thinking? :)

Woah I just got slapped in the face by d?ja-vu, its so wierd when that happens.
I can totally relate to what you are going through, I lost all my DLCs (and mods) when my Dell harddrive crashed. Of course, at the time, I was more concerned about my laptop which was falling to sh*t pieces, but once it was replaced (7 months later) I immidiately went on the hunt in my local game stores to find the Knights of the Nine package with all the DLCs (except Battlehorn Castle). Happy days people, truely happy days.

After the hassle of having to extract the DLC on an XP system then transfering them to my Vista system - I just made sure to back them up on a CDRom.

I agree with others Battlehorn is completely forgettable and there are several other castle mods that are free at Nexus/PES that blow it away.

I should have backed up mine on CD too but hindsight is always 20/20 and when formatting the last thing on my mind were the official plug-ins.
Checked out Ebay and with shipping the price of Knights of the Nine is a little above $20.00
Not bad but a bit pricey if you have already paid for it.
