Some final ideas...

Post » Fri Oct 22, 2010 4:57 pm

This thread is to ask Bethesda fans how they would like Fallout NewVegas to come out.

Here is an idea from me:
I have gotten tired of the original skills and hope for new ones and old ones to be improved. I like lockpicking but the minigame is really quite borring. Many people have to agree and some people may not. Also somthing that should take into some consideration is new skills. I saw and heard how you can add things like scopes and such to your guns, well listen to this: What if scrapmetal finally had a use and it could be molded into ammo, a scope, anything with this new skill proposition, "Mechanics"! i know some might think about schematics and such but with this here is how the skill will work:
At the making of anything such as a blade, a gun, ammo, or even a bigger shell to make that custom shotgun finally go... Bang! you will have a 20/80 chance of making it but with improvment of the skill it can become 40/60, 50/50, and at maxed out mabey 80/20? Then like in Fallout 3 there should be everyday items that may increase this. any improvments you may post for my idea.

If you don't like lockpicking minigame then you don't like fallout. :grad:

Twaddle, Fallout did not have any mini-games like that until Fallout 3, although technically the roulette tables could be viewed as a mini-game in Fallout 2 but that was for gambling which although a mini-game isn't the same as the ones forced on us in Fallout 3 to get through locks or computers.

I love the idea Obsidian/Bethesda came up with for weapon mods. Adding things to guns is a favorite among many. I hope to see some new Character Customization. Its fine if theres not but it would be nice. B)

Free would be nice :D.

So far it looks like it will have alot of what I already want, hardcoe Mode, Reputation system, Damage thresold, more dialogue and it's not all Good vs Evil. Little references to FO3 but alot to FO1 and FO2 so the devs tell us.

If they add hallucinogenic effects from drugs, poison and dehydration that would be awesome and for Random special encouners. Being able to get drunk like in FO,FO2 and Tactics. To be able to smoke. Cigars, pipes as well as cigarettes.

If they add some at least one of my special random encounter ideas I would be really happy.

Lockpicking isnt actually that hard. At all. It takes me at most a whole 45 seconds to complete it.

But the idea of Scrap Metal to actually turn into something reminds me of the stuff you can do with Metal in TF2. Pretty cool idea.

I'll agree. The lockpicking minigame was really tedious and repetitive in the long run, and it also didn't pose any challenge or any chance of failing unless you were intentionally careless (in a way, it would've been better if once you reach the skill threshold, you just open the lock without the minigame). I'd very much like if - if not made into skillchance based - it was tweaked so that it offers those things (challenge and chance of failure - at least the latter).

So hard to get a joke across on a forum.
