Better shops this time around perhaps

In oblivion all the shops seemed to be useless, especially weapon and armor shops as they usaully provided bad weapons(iron sword, steel bow) even if you were a high level, it was just better to find weapons yourself instead of buying them. I'm hoping skyrim will have more useful shops.

Yeah and what was with them peddling the most useless enchanted items (talking 1 good effect, 3 bad ones) for 11K gold when you can make one with no negative effects and better positive effects for like 1k gold?

I remember In morrowind shops would be useful at first, allowing you to buy your starter armor, or atleast parts of it... so, atleast back they had a function. I honestly don't remember Whether they were any good in oblivion since I haven't played it in ages (never get further than the tutorial before I close it in annoyance xD)... But ya it would be nice for shops actually to have a function.

Agreed. Not saying all shops need to have great items, but there should be a point to going to them. At least have things that are interesting or unique to the shop.

Fallout : New Vegas had gun runners where you could buy most of the badass weapons in the game. Make an unique shop like this in Skyrim too, expensive as hell, but enormous quality! And clothing, in Morrowind I kinda gave up on he clothes because an expensive robe only costed 20 gold or something, I wanted quality clothes to cost more, is that weird too think that? :S
