The Underground Help

Post » Tue Oct 26, 2010 3:07 pm

I went on a quest in the underground mod to go to mournhold and investigate the vacant manor. I tried to enter, and it said the manor was under repair, please return later. I coc'd back to balmora to see if the guy who gave me the quest had anything else to say that would let me in the manor. When I went in the sewers and got to the door, it wasn't there. There was only the U shaped frame, and a black line going down the middle where the door should be. I tried making a new door that would get me into the bar, but the door wouldn't appear in-game(and yes, I did activate the file in launcher). I also tried setting one of the trapdoors to teleport me to the bar, but it just took me to the regular area it would have taken me to. Any suggestions?

Uh, CoCing all around can break all kinds of stuff with complicated quest mods like that one. Especially if a quest or something else is suppose to open that door and you CoC right past the trigger. I think in the readme it even tells you not to do it. Duplicate references can cause things like missing doors I know. I'm not sure that is a problem any more with Morrowind Code Path though.

Thx, but I really need a fix answer. If I ever get it fixed without having to start a new game, I'm going to use mark in the bar until I finish the mod's main quest.

Is there anyway I can COC to it? I don't know how to COC to places with more than one word. I know that COC'ing probably caused the problem in the first place, but i wouldn't have to worry about losing doors as much with this knowledge.

I assume your vampire companion was not with you? Because I think that it disappeared for me sometimes when he wasn't with my character.

Is there anyway I can fix this through TES Construction set? Like adding doors, NPC's, etc.

Qarl uses a 2-door system in several cases to prevent entry into an area until a certain point in a quest is reached. The doors into The Underground are such a case. The inoperative door remains in place until after you have done Johnny's/Synda's bidding and killed the ordinators that were tormenting the vampire in the egg mine and report back. When Johnny/Synda offer to escort you to the bar, the inoperative door disappears and the regular door appears.
Try this first of all: in the console, type
"Qex_velothi_loaddoor_01D2->disable" (Enter)
then
"Qex_velothi_loaddoor_01D ->enable" (Enter)

If that doesn't work, then try a COC but only AFTER you have killed the ordinators. Type,
coc "Balmora, The Underground"

For COC'ing in general, case doesn't matter, but everything else (commas, spaces) does. It must be verbatim. For any name OTHER than a single word (Ald-ruhn is NOT a single word because of the hyphen), you must include quote marks.

If the vacant manor is under construction, it must be a mod that I'm unfamiliar with. It sounds like a conflict and/or 'doubling' issue.

Edit:
(Actually, I just discovered the 'under construction' thing is part of The Underground II - I've just never encountered it before)
Edit:
You might not have to worry about hyphens as I previously thought.

You could try enabling it in the console. You need to type the ID in the console, and then add ->enable

Here's an example: "spell_breaker_unique->enable"

To find the ID look in the Construction Set. I've never used The Underground before, nor do I intend to use it, so I don't know the ID for it.

EDIT: Beat me to it Huskobar :laugh:

Just a rule of thumb: if a door (or anything else for that matter) suddenly goes missing, it's probably a problem with the reference's objectindex. Try renumbering the references of "The Underground" with Wrye Mash.

THANK YOU Huskobar. I can CoC to places with multiple words. Just put quotation marks("name here")around all words, (if there are any in the name) commas(,), and hyphens(-).
