[RELz] Random Items Mod

Post » Wed Oct 27, 2010 10:06 pm

So, my second mod inspired by Pj_Staab

Treat it like BETA, any testing would be appreciated.

Adding Faarp's Weapon Compilation V2 is recommended.

======================================================
Name:SlasherPL Random Items Mod and Weapon Compilation V2 Ressurection
Current Version:1.0
======================================================
Description:

Inspired by Pj_Staab Random Items mod, I have created my own. One big advantage over Pj_Staab is that you wont happen to find for example glass or ebony enchanted items in first smuggler cave. Also it adds about 150-200k of items. All items are leveled up to level 50, not all are enchanted, they may not have so much balanced prices since they are made randomly. First enchanted items start to appearing at about 4-5 level. I've added them to default loot lists like smugglers, bandits, tombs, crates. All items calculate to your actual level or may be below it. Also, my mod contains items from Weapon Compilation v2 from Faarp.

------------------------------------------------------
Installation

Copy all files to your Morrowind Data files folder. Overwrite any files if happen.

Activate Random_Items_SlashPL.esp at Wrye Mash or Morrowind Launcher.

Remember to Merge Mashed Lists at Wrye Mash!!

Update your save game if you're adding it to actual game.

NOTE: This plugin may raise your plugin loading time at startup of Morrowind because it weighs 42mb and have many items in it.

------------------------------------------------------
Version History:

1.0 - Initial release

------------------------------------------------------
Save Games:

Always backup your savegame, but you should not have any problem with updating it in Wrye Mash.

------------------------------------------------------
Incompatibilities:

I don't know any.

------------------------------------------------------
Additional Notes:

Thanks to Pj_Staab for inspiration
Thanks to Faarp for his great Weapon Compilation
Thanks to community of gamesas forums for showing me the basics of using TESCS

Enjoy and Cheers

I can make leveled lists patch to most popular mods if someone requests it. Just write here if you need something and I'll see what I can do. :)

Post any bugs if you find :)

Could you indicate how much you have used from Weapon Compilation v2 from Faarp, please?
And have you loaded your mod and Faarp's together, with what effect?

Hmm, I took all weapons textures, meshes, icons , but really don't know how many are used in this mod since there are so many items. His own esp is not included since MWRandItems just wanted to take textures, icons and meshes from it. So they are included in the archive and works ok. But the mod itself isnt fully tested so treat it like beta.

edit: I've seen many names from the compilation in the list, rather all are in my mod. Cheers

edit2: Weird that it wanted them at some folder named SI_W, not Faarps mod. I should add that adding his mod to it is rather recommended to add normal versions of weapons.

The effect of playing these 2 mods? I really dont know since I played only a little bit with those. To level5. But I have these loaded and works good. My mod just adds Randomly Enchanted Weapons, Armors, Clothes + Faarps Random Enchant Weaps to the level lists.

Hey, want to ask something off the topic and still kinda on. So, this is a manipulator that automatically puts randomized selected items all over Vvardelfell. I like the idea, but is there any mods that works with shop? For example, every time I choose to shop at a certain seller, all he's junk changes each time I click him. I slightly remember that there was a kinda similar mod like available, but I can't put my finger on it's name right now.

Wrong thread.

The mod is Byb Traders 300.
To each shop was added a crate which contained random items based onthe shop's type. EX a Clothes shop was added a crate which randomly generated a random amount of clothes, which belong to the owner of the shop for purchase. Also the quantity of rendomly generated items is set to a negative value so they will respawn every once in a while, so if you shop at one shop. Go questing and come back the shop will be updated with items for your new level!
To see what i mean right away, just go straight to your nearest shop and see all the new stuff.
As an added bonus the Two aquirable shops in Raven Rock have large quantities of randomly generated things for you to look forward to and actually makes these shops useful.
Adds to every shop in the game Exluding:
.............................
Telvanni Cities
Vivec
............................
....Shop items are randomly generated based on a logic I created, Where smiths will sell lots of weapons and armor randomly generated based on your player level. Yes Mod added weapons will be added if they are part of Random Leveled lists ....

Thanks ronin49 for pointing me in the right direction. Especially in such short notice! Really helpful.
And yeah, maybe I shouldn't have written in this thread on a non-topic subject, but I didn't know which place to look, so I just
throw a coin out in random, and hoped for the best. That also occurred!

Anyways, good luck with your Mod slasherPL. It looks awesome!

Holy Crap, how come I didn't see this earlier! It looks nice. I'll give it a whirl. Also, some people might be annoyed by Rapidshare. :)

I'll post back here if I find anything odd. Like Smiley faces.

This will bring me back memories of the great Split-Infinity by Jaga Tailsin.

hmm, a few thoughts after running through this mod for awhile.
Hyena's modifier of negative fortify fatigue has issues. If you give this to a bandit and try to hit him in melee, he will never be touched. :( True invulnerability.

Also, a Snake's Ash staff of something was a white graphic for it's in game display. And I installed your mod right.

Hmmm, thanks for the notice about staff. There are some missing NIFs which I was not aware of... I havent noticed it since program has created all items randomly with his sources of meshes/textures. If someone happen to find them anywhere, I would be grateful, since I cant find it on mine....

Good, that the mod is working as intended. However David, I can't find way to add my items to bandits or else..... Maybe you looted something from them?

edit: After looking at tescs, I've noticed that much more nifs are missing...... If anyone can look in the cs and find some bit please tell me about it... All textures that may be missing are at SI_W folder

Oh, don't worry about that. I just know how the -fortify works if you give it to an NPC. :) Trust me on this.

I found a few more error meshes and textures. I'm getting a bit tired of fighting with texture errors. :)
Also, and bandits even with this mod, or at least, some NPCs have items from it. If they have any items from this mod, and their skill is good enough to wear it, they will.

Oh, and don't worry, despite some ancient Daedric Katanas, I haven't seen anything really high up there in the price range. :)

And did you ever play Split-Infinity? Because when I installed this mod, I saw a good number of texture files with SI in their name. :)
I'm just glad people remember it. :( What happened to Jaga-Tailsin?

Ah, yes, SI_W, yeah, Split-Infinity had it's own BSA loaded for the mod to work. So, it's possible, that somehow the way you're doing it, somehow revered to default behavor? I don't know. But it's weird to see smilely faces and giant exclamation points. :)
204 files in that folder? Is that too low?

I really dont know. I just made my items clicking create and create and create at MWRandItems. I cant find any files or info about Split-Infinity in the internet, Im sure its lacking files from it exactly.... :(( and I doubt theres now a way to fix my mod with those files..... If you could find something, let me know

And sorry for that meshes errors, its my first big mod ... I'm just not that advanced in modding thing.

I'll keep playing this mod and let you know if I find any other strange increase of exclamation point weapons. :)

Don't worry about it though, the good outweighs the little bad here. :)
Also, since I was a beta tester for Split, I might be able to look through my old hard drive one of these days, and extract the BSA archive. Then I can see if I run this mod with that BSa, if the amount of display errors are reduced. :)

Like I said, don't worry about it. This mod is still about 40 billion times better than the one I made for myself. :)

Unfortunately, I'm probably the only person on the planet still who has a copy of Split-Infinity. :(

Tell you what, when you've made the major list, I'll go try and get my old hard drive up and connected, and attempt to figure this out. I can't make any promises, though.

Hmm, I have a xxx2 texture already in the meshes folder.
Some of the others are not there. A temporary solution, is to copy/paste a .tga/nif file with another name and then change that name to this mod's required one. That will work.

I don't have access to my old computer at the moment, so it might be a day or 2.
