Free Download?

Post » Sun Oct 31, 2010 1:42 pm

I was just wondering if, like TES: Arena and Daggerfall, FO1 or 2 have been released for free download by gamesas? I'm hoping to understand better the lore behind FO:NV before it comes out, so I'd like to beat the first 2 before I play it. and I dont mean illegal downloads. thanks!

Not free, but very cheap. Try Good Old Games (GoG)...I think I got download copies for ~$5 each.

You can get both Fallout 1 and 2 for around $10, try GOG like suggested above. But if you seriously want to know a lot about the Fallout universe, try out http://www.fallout.wikia.com .

No free downloads, as said you can buy it really cheap. Anyone pointing to illegal downloads will be leaving these forums. OK?

what?

anyway: if ti costs money than ill pass. more than likely I wouldn't like the weird turn-based and general gameplay, i just wanted to see what it was like.

Interplay owns the rights to Fallout 1 and 2 currently and I think they need the money to keep their heads above the water so don't expect them to give away their currently most popular franchise

You could always try the http://download.cnet.com/Fallout-demo/3000-7539_4-10008318.html.

The next best thing to playing them? Reading playthroughs!

http://lparchive.org/LetsPlay/Fallout/: Smith's New Diary, Day 1:

It seems that I've gotten myself in a fix, Diary. Remember when dad said 'never be in first, never be in last, and never volunteer for anything'? Seems he was right. When John asked, 'Who wouldn't mind popping out of the Vault for a bit of a hike?', I was silly enough to answer, 'Why, I would love a hike!'. I thought we might be doing a geological and atmospheric survey or something. Really, anything to get out of the Vault for a bit, even if there are mutants and Scientologists out there
.

http://lparchive.org/LetsPlay/Fallout%202/, as played by a character with Intelligence 3. Very funny, but in kind of an awful way: Herro. Me name am Trogg. Me am mightyfine young man from village of yoyo.

Me am very strong mightyfine young man. Everyone in villiage knows this. Everyone say "No-one thicker than Trogg". They see Trogg strong make Trogg happy.

Me am very excited. Why me excited? Because me am soon go on wonderful holiday. Me Gram-Gram tell me that me am to go outside of village for first time ever. YAY!

BONUS! http://lparchive.org/LetsPlay/Fallout%203/!

(NOTE: All of these are likely to include mature themes-- they're playthroughs of the games, after all.)
