I think of the existing calibers the 5.56 would be the closest fit for the SKS...308 would be way too powerful. In real life its chambered for 7.62x39...basically it is designed for medium range engagements and is fairly accurate with pretty low recoil, its fed from a 10 round fixed magazine that has to be loaded by stripper clips or one round at a time. Fun little rifles, here's a picture of mine, its the third one down:

Nice guns. :gun: Is that a real No.5 or a cut down No.4 SMLE? If it's a cut down, they did a nice job. Remember, the M44 and the SKS were arsenal sighted with the bayonets out. Drastically changes the barrel harmonics. You shoot 'em with the bayonets out or folded?

I wouldent mind seeing a Rail Gun, Cross bow and a heavy grenade launcher (them revolver like ones) oh and one designed to be more customizable, a Tranquilizer where the player can make diffrent types of poisens, Napalm, burning plasma rounds and perhaps a round what heals for companions if to far away etc....

This Machine (M1 Garand) is a unique that isn't very common in the Mojave. If they introduced a 10 shot SKS with 5.56 then I don't see how they are "close enough".

Thanks I've got several more rifles and handguns now, some cheap and some fairly expensive...my most expensive one is the Springfield XDM in .40 Smith. I shoot the SKS and M44 with the bayonets affixed as I was taught that its how they were sighted and intended to be fired. The Enfield is a cut down NO. 4 but its close enough for me and it works great...whoever converted it took their time and did it right because I've seen some hack jobs done to the Enfield rifles that make me sick.

Back on topic, I still think we need more semi-automatic rifles in NV but the improvements made to the Service Rifle have made it much better than when the game shipped, previously I thought it was useless but now I'm actually enjoying it.

Very nice. I used to have a Western Auto .22 (made by Marlin for the hardware store chain) just like your Marlin. What is the SAA? Is that a Frontier Scout in .22?

Nah its an old junk gun, an RG66 it was one of the cheapest guns I ever bought and it performed like it too, it was pretty worn looking when I got it but I figured for less than $100 I would take a chance. It actually broke on me after a couple hundred rounds and I parted it out, made a decent profit that I used toward a Single Six. Who would've thought that a gun could be worth more broken down than sold as a functional firearm?
