Long Neck

Post » Tue Nov 02, 2010 2:27 am

Little annoying thing I got here it may have come up before so it shouldn't be a hard one, basically my pc has got a long neck, it's like her head has been stuck on to her body and her head is a slight different tone to her body aswell (darker)....its also giving me some clipping issues with some of the long hair styles anyone know how to sort that out?

Yeah I'm using the EVE HGEC Eyecandy Variants Expansion mod.

EDIT:

I also used the High-Resolution 4096x4096 textures aswell.

Well, there is no fix for clipping with longer hair styles, but you can try AlienSlof's wig mod, also the body and head inconsistancy sounds pretty vanilla to me, perhaps if you post a screenshot we can see what the problem is.

Did you get the face textures as well as the body textures? If you did, are you using Throttlekitty's Head06 mesh? The high-rez face textures are only for the stock head and won't apply to the head06 mesh. There MIGHT be some high-rez textures for Head06 but I haven't found any.

The thing is it wasn't happening before it's only since this installation so I'm a bit baffed, I've set up some screen shots as you asked so you can see for yourself.

No I didn't as I thought the textures was for both body and head so never looked for a separate one, and I'm not using the head mesh you mentioned as I don't actually know that it is :unsure2: The face you asked me about it I'm guessing it may be a solution?

Noo there far from normal, her head tone and body tone are completely different and other loge hair styles go through her back big time and also some armours go through her neck and none of that was happening before so they can't be normal :nope:

1. When you make a face, first reset the face, then adjust shape and tone. Also using matching face-body texture will be helpful. However, you cannot eliminate head-body tone difference and neck seams completely.
2. Hair mesh is static(they cannot be rigged with any skeleton), so long hairs will clip through body mesh, even vanilla hairs clip(pick 'pony tail', then set it longest, see how the hair clips through). No solution other than using wigs(then ears will disappear).

Quick question...

You say you are using a body replacer..But do you realize that NONE of the stock clothes and armor will work with said replacer?

There are Replacers for just about everything....search ....EVE, HGEC ,

there are ones for Stock, MMM,OOO Frans.....think this might help.

I did reset the face before I started adjusting, twice actually. And I know you will still have clipping even with vanilla hairs, what I'm saying is the clipping has got worse I'll try get more screen shots and you will see exactly what I'm talking about.

How about normal standing pose, not 'ready to attack' pose in menu screen? I mean, take a shot out of menu.

I guess we just get used to the clipping. My character also has Long hair...Ren 13 I think, and Riding a horse the clipping is bad, also when crouched. there is a mod that helps with the neck seam.....seam consealer or something. The Face Shot looked to me that you just need to get a Face replacement skin. to match the Body one. they are separate.

Those screenshots, given that hair, is absolutely normal. There's nothing wrong. I'm not saying that you're seeing things, and that you're crazy... I'm just saying that the issues aren't "issues." That's how it works

Hmm it seems to be fine in normal standing pose, should I just ignore the inventory menu then annoying as it is?

I've never actually noticed the clipping being that bad before but seen as it's not happening in-game I guess I can deal with it <_<

Erm ma bad eek! don't know how to censor then though (if there is a specific way) so I may just have to remove the links...sorry

Unless you're using some 'menu mode idle animation replacer', default menu mode pose is 'ready for strike', with slightly hunched back. No wonder the hair clip through back with that pose.

**To censor your screenshots: Just open the screenshot with any graphic editor, put 'black square of censorship' on body parts. Then save it, upload it anywhere. I'm sure Photobucket will delete yours even if you didn't.

You can open the images in Paint and paint over them  Not sure it's worth it... I mean it when I say the clipping is normal. It happens because hair, by nature of how it works, isn't able to deform depending on position. It's always going to go straight down, and in that pose, that takes it through the body. There's nothing that can be done :( I hope I explained it well enough.

I'm not using any animation replaces because the UV mod doesn't seem to like it. And yeah the explanation was fine ishmaeltheforsaken. It's no worries though I guess it's something I can deal with if it's only happening in the menu screen, thanks for the help though guys...oh I sorted the images btw so hopeful I won't get in trouble :P

EDIT:

Censored the images resaved them but still the old screen shots are coming up and I've even deleted them from photobucket but yet still they insist on showing so now I'm baffed and guess I'll just have to leave them as they are

Although some of Bethesda's games are rated Mature, these forums are 13+, and we are pretty strict about any nudity - even linking to mods with nvde images posted in their image gallery. http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/644280-advltmature-content/

I edited out the links. If you can take a screen shot with your character at least bikini coverage, you would be okay.
