No, no, and no! I'll rather reload than feel forced to reduce difficulty. I'm currently lvl 44 hunter at max difficulty. A few goblins will toast me. Do I fear them? You bet. Kwatch took 6-9 hours to complete and I was completely exhausted. Being able to save means I can play at maximum immersion. Although invisibility potions are extremely helpful, I was able to do all the Aid For Bruma quests without fast travel. And max difficulty slider means I can't engage in combat. I tried everything I could think of (endless reloads) to save those two fellows trapped in Oblivion, but I had to abandon the idea in the end.
No saving would discurage me from attempting such crazy experiments.
There are freak accidents that leads to getting killed.
And I have plenty of game crashes, which would render checkpoints hopeless.
I don't touch games anymore that doesn't allow me to save, and Skyrim would be no different.
