In about 4 hours I plan to download Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 from gog.com. From what the forums on gog.com say, Fallout 1 has censored children out, while Fallout 2 has not. It also said that Fallout 1 vanilla was unstable. What I'd like to do is as soon as I finish the download, patch both games (and uncensor Fallout 1) immediatly before I ever play them at all. Now, the trouble is I have never played a game on a PC before, and I ahve never modded anything before. What I need is a very, VERY detailed walkthrough on what I should do, step by step, to patch first Fallout 1 to whatever patch is deemed the best by you people and to uncensor it, then I'd like to do the same thing with Fallout 2, but I won't need to uncesor it. From what I know, I download the mods/patches, then I have to do some complex moving and rewriting of files which I don't really know how to find, let alone actually do. Can some kind soul on these forums help me out, or, even better, give me a video walkthrough of patching fallout 1, uncesoring it, then doing the same with fallout 2, unless they're very simmilar, so once I know how to patch the first, the second will be cake.

Not entirely sure what you want here, but let's start with Fallout 1 (you ain't gonna be playin'em both at the same time now are ya?). Most of what you want and need can be found at the old Fallout fansite No Mutants Allowed but I'll put some links that you'll need in this post for ya.

The children patch "censor patch" is just the childrens animation. Just paste it in the data folder. Also, read the readme files.

Like the guy above me said, read the readme files. They should be pretty easily understandable, tellin' you where to extract each folder and file and what to do in easy-to-follow steps. If'n yer still havin' a problem, just come back with specifics an' I'll try to help.

It'd be really helpfull if someone had or could make a video of a step by step uncensoring and patching Fallout 1 and 2. I won't be getting the games until tomorrow because the credit card isn't registering the money I put on it and won't be updated untill monday.

Sorry there, but I know how to make a video showing you how to install the games less than you seem to think you'll know how to install the games. Why not just try reading the read-me files before making somebody go through all that trouble?

I'm getting the games of GOG.com, which I think will come with their own installer so that all should be pretty straightforward, right?

I'm definetly give it all a try with the readme files, and if I can figure it out alone thats great, hopefully I'd then be able to mod the games too. I wasn't trying to make anyone do it, I was just asking if anybody had the time and felt like doing it I'd apreciate it.
