My completely random thoughts, with much input from others,

Right. Basically, after the events of Oblivion, the Empire is thrown into disarray right, due to no legit heir being around. However, the line of Septium, known as Dragonborn, is possibly reffered to in the trailer... I prefer to think thats just bethseda screwing up by accident and the two are unrelated.

Skyrim is in the midst of some sort of civil war. That much we get from the trailer. Somethings gonna appear (dragons) during this civil war, and theres going to be a hero- Dovakhin, possibly the Dragonborn, but Dragonborn could mean wayyy to many things to be certain, ie another person, a weapon etc.

Decoding the back of the games cover reveals further clues (see game informer's website...) in the form of a thing with black wings, and independently verifie by me and others, a name- Alduin, which isn't given in the translation tables... Alduin is the Nordic (the people of skyrim) representation of the imperial deity, Akatosh, whom Martin Septium sorta becomes an avatar of.

Basically, as far as I can see, the main protagonist will be the Aedra Akatosh, in his Nordic guise, which is weird, as they're predominantly "good" when compared the the Daedric Four Corners. There's gonna be the usual bs low level questing at the beginning, followed by becoming/finding the Dragonborn, fulfilling the prophecies and fighting dragons...

Of course, this still doesn't take into account the whole Akavir angle, and Beth have only mentioned it twice recently, with the Akaviri armour the Blades use, and that the Nerevarine went to Akavir, after banishing the cliff racers. Given Martin's transformtion in Oblivion, and the translations, and the fact that the Akaviri aren't actual dragons per se, I think the whole Alduin/Akatosh thing is wayyy stronger.

Especially given that in Nordic mythos, Alduin will return as a blcak beast devouring everything (world eater), in the midst of a Skyrim civil war, and he's frequently referred to as a great firey beast... Dragon?

Yes, I'm aware there are gaping holes in my ideas. So discuss... I'd rather have input given today's reveals... Flesh it out , tear it apart, whatever...

And I'm not a huge lore buff, so I'm gonna get bits wrong.

Hehe, I could be wrong, just my two cents lol. I'm gonna go get drunk...

It's an interesting theory and I think Akavir will have some part in this

I'm less sure. I'd like to think so, I just have a hard time reconciling Akavir and Skyrim... But time will tell I guess...

You have similar thoughts to this guy http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1152130-the-story-behind-skyrim-v20/

Far more plausible and supported by the Trailer and GI cover decoded poem/message more so then anything with Akavir

Isn't Jiub the one who got rid of the cliffracers? I think yes.

Depends what you mean by reconciling...but

The Blades are the Dragonguards of the Dragonborn. The first Blades were exclusively Akaviri (Tsaesci) and the personal guards of Reman 1st (a Dragonborn). When Reman dynasty stopped, the Blades became wandering "Holy Knights", they still had Tsaesci blood so they lived for a long time. One of these knights, Chevalier Renald, joined Cuhlecain's campaign to get closer to Tiber Septim (another Dragonborn) and Tiber re-instated the Blades (half turned into a spy networks from their bodyguard job). The Blades still wear the Akaviri armors and still use the Akaviri blades in Oblivion and they still live inside of a Akaviri fort (Cloud Ruler Temple) more than 400 years after Tiber Septim time and over a thousands of year after Reman's. Finally, at the end of Oblivion they said they were going back to wait for the next Dragonborn...

Hopefully the game will explain why Reman turned his enemy (the invading Akaviri) into his personal bodyguards and most trusted advisors. Also, the Tsaesci swordsmen have their own form of Thu'um too, they call it Kiai. From the description of the dragon shouts in the mag, Thu'um is the same thing or really close to it...

This makes sense. I don't think I really meant reconciling... I forgot this whole bit of the background haha.

I'm personally hoping that Jagar Tharn makes a comeback, and you find out he manipulated Dagon, and Martin, and Mankar Camoran, so that he could unleash Alduin on Tamriel
