I was wrong about you BRINK, Where you?

Post » Fri Nov 05, 2010 6:01 pm

I have just finished watching all of the vidoes about the game on youtube. And all i must say it wow, this game just gave me a reason to not sleep properly ever again.

When I heard about the game I thought nothing of it but, since the vidoes I have completely changed my mind this game i believe will make a huge impact on other major games on the market now, the online play amazed me with the gun mods and all, To bad there was not a beta, anyway have you mis-judged this game in anyway, i thought nothing and now I can not wait.

If you have not watched any of the videos yet go on you-tube and check them out you'll love it and if you fan of shooter games this will be the game for you I hope.

I got svcked in by the art style, then checked it out, then got hoked on the rest. I know a load of people who are dismissing it as Halo with parkour. Shame. You really do have to see the details rather than just the adverts to appreciate it.

If the videos did that, then this will make you cream your pants - http://www.fragworld.org/frag/brink/the-fragworld-brink-compendium.html

It is pretty much all the info that is known about the game, all in one place.

Agreed, though the graphics do remind me of boarderlands :) by the way I loved.

It's like Borderlands minus cell shadediness and add exaggeration of features.

I rather take the view that many of you folks misjudge this game for going to cause a major impact only because it's different.

After all, many different MMORPGs were not able to cause a major impact on Wolrd of Warcraft (Call of Duty is the Warcraft of FPSs).

An excellent anology.

i see your point Revoluzzer but i think alot of mmorpgs failed because the people that play wow are, for the most part, happy with it. (many to the point of obsession) While a lot of people (myself included) that have been playing cod forever are sick of the game. Its getting pretty stale and it seems like the majority of people i come across while playing are ready for something different that will shake the genre up

The thing that really got me that it's a more hardcoe shooter whilst still being close combat.
And all the thing like SMART(And the balance, classes) are so obvious and cave-man simple, yet no other shooter has done it before.

Well, I first heard about Brink from APB forums when it was closing. I didn't care much for it until I really looked into it.

The thing with Brink is its so different that I dident know what to think of it at first. I have noticed though that its just different enough to get people who I have known to be diehard CoD fans to look at it and get very interested in switching to that because it offers gameplay that takes the "style" of CoD and just turns it into something very new. Its now about teamwork, creativity in movement on a whole new level, and personal customization to the level of true indaviduality. Thats why I feel Brink has a chance to make a big splash if enough people hear about it. Its different enough to get peoples attention and that = sales and if its good enough it just might bring the change I have been hoping for in the FPS scene

I think we have found the marketing scheme for Brink. Wives and girlfriends will hate it

The COD-crowd pretends to be upset with their games. However, they don't try look over the rim of their tea cup to find out that there are many equal, if not better games. And if they do, they still return to their love-hated CODs.

If I don't like a game, I drop it. Easy as.

But the COD-crowd doesn't. The COD-crowd buys a map-pack for 15 quid instead.

 Why else would it be called Brink. I don't buy the "on the Brink of civil-war" stuff, they meant the real extincition of humanity being on the Brink.

Actually, that HAS to be why they delayed the game. They'll have played it for months, and upon release, when every single guy is busy playing the game, BOOM, they get all the girls..!

Pure, brilliant, unadvltered genius!

"Women are an important thing, even for us nerds. We actually do get women, despite gaming. But then we try making them play games, which makes them nerds, which makes us not wanting them anymore, because nobody wants nerds."
